Why do we feel unfulfilled even if we have everything?

Once I joined a large corporate picnic along with a crowd of around 500+ colleagues and their family members in February-end (pre-summer). It was a firm-house around 70 Kilometers away from Mumbai (India). The morning half was designed with breakfast and physical competitions/activities and second half was to enjoy melodious and fulfilling performances. In between both halves there was lunch and few life-style experiences.
It was a royal five course lunch with countless sumptuous starters, dishes and mesmerizingly yummy desserts.
Due to physical competition/activities, most of participants were really thirsty before lunch. Hence among the assortment of mouth-watering food, they kept looking for some cold water. Finally, some volunteer guided them towards a silent corner of the farm, where the water and cocktail stall was placed.
All thirsty colleagues rushed in to that corner for water, however they found that the date in water bottle has already been expired for whole lot. The corner was filled with anger, blame and noise. For them sumptuous food was a secondary need. To contain the situation, the event management team could arrange limited bottles from local market in one hour. Finally, all thirsty colleagues fulfilled their thirst.
The one hour became a war between plain water versus an assortment of dishes, but water won the game for them.
Similarly, fulfilment in life is a thirst that no amount of material comfort of this world can fulfil. It's a state of mind where we feel complete, purposeful, meaningful, contended and satisfied with our life. The material abundance may give us comfort, convenience, power, fame and lavish life-style but can’t satisfy the thirst of our life.
We as self or life are much beyond our body mind. And thus, even the highest form of material abundance can't fulfil our inner-thirst.

Hence my friend, we need to explore the journey to find the source of satisfying plain-water within our inner-self, inner-being or inner-energy. It can no way be outsourced to lavish life-style. Anyone think otherwise are in deeper illusion between life and life-style.
Fortunately, we in this generation are far more empowered, capable and smarter than any previous generations in history to explore. Though for most of us this road is less travelled today, we have to break the patten and establish a integration, balance and harmony between our life & life-style. This will ensure a life of success as as well as meaning and fulfillment.
Unless we realize that without filling the inner thirst along with life-style, our life will remain regretful, incomplete, purposeless, meaningless, discontented, dissatisfied and finally unfulfilled. In other words, lavish life-style is meaningless without contended and satisfied life. Hence my friend, let’s not forget the existential and primary need for satisfying plain water for our life along with secondary scrumptious food. Also, this is the sole reason why more than 95% of affluent people die with regret and remorse after a long stint of Smart and restless life-style.
While life-style or outer-wellbeing can be achieved through our smartness of body and mind, the thirst of the life can only be satisfied by exercising smartness in harmony with our inner-space, which I call as Sage-ness. This will help to have a integration, balance and melodious harmony ?between life and life-style.
To understand the nature of our inner-space beyond body-mind and the approach to tap the satisfying water from the inner-source, you may read the book Smart-Sage. #samrtsage
