WHY DO WE BLOG?
There is a number of reasons why we decide to start a blog, we can promote a business, promote a product, keep a personal record that only you can read, or you can express your thoughts and ramblings too the entire planet, but what ever the reason you do write a blog, you can be sure that it is a very powerful resource and can be used to great effect. Below I will show you how to get the best out of your blog.
USE A TOP LEVEL DOMAIN NAME
The reason a top level domain is so important is because it shows readers and potential clients how serious you are about your blog, and if you have monetised your blog you will get a far better bid rate from advertisers.
2. MAKE YOUR SITE LOOK GOOD
It’s important that your site looks and feels good, with this I mean that apart from having great content on your site, it must aesthetically look pleasing to the eye, and your visitors must be able to navigate around your site without any trouble. There is nothing worse than a disorganised blog with no navigation and broken links etc. this will have a negative effect on the visitors to your site and your return visitor stats will decrease.
3 REFRESH YOUR CONTENT REGULARLY
You must post regularly to keep readers interested in what you have to say. The content you produce must be of good quality and be original. In my experience you must post at least twice a week, although this depends on what your blog is about.
4 CHOOSE A NICHE TOPIC
The subject matter of your blog is important, choose a topic you are knowledgeable about, but even more importantly , choose a topic that you enjoy writing about. Readers are not stupid, they will know if what they are reading is just full of fluff, or that they are reading an informative well written article.
5 USE INTERESTING TITLES
The first thing you read in any post is the title, and this is what grabs the readers attention, your title will decide if the post is worth reading or not. The mistake a lot of people make is they write an absolutely fantastic post but a really poor title, so readers don’t click on it. A good title needs to be catchy, and no more than 4/5 words long.
THE OVERVIEW
To sum up, a good blog must be neat and tidy, be easy to navigate, and isn’t overloaded with advertisements. It must concentrate on a particular subject, and the writer must be knowledgeable on that subject. Your writing and grammar must be of good quality. The points I have mentioned are very basic, but are the framework for any good blog, the very last point I must make is ENJOY WRITING YOUR BLOG
ALL THE BEST IN ALL YOU WRITE
