Why do some people always want to take the cheap DIY option even when they have already told me how rich they are?
A good example was this guy who was recommended to me, so I took the meeting. He was moving from Europe to Singapore to set up his business here and import his very expensive goods here.
He moved his fmaily here, including putting his two sons into very expensive international school.
So I went through my Ultimate and Ultimate LITE service. He said in the meeting that he definitely needed my help as he didn't know how to use LinkedIn, and he didn't, his profile was 5% complete and he had no content strategy or engagement.
After much back and forth he wrote this to me.
"We are limited on marketing budget".
This despite the fact that he had been qualified before our meeting so he knew how much we charged before meeting me and he had also checked out our services several times since too.
I didn't believe him.
So you can afford to come over to Singapore, set up a business here, open a warehouse for your goods here, employ people here, rent a house here, put your kids in very expensive international school here but you can't afford the marketing help that you have told me that you need because no one knows who you are and no one knows anything about your business!
Bizarre.
But he did want to "have lunch" with me to discuss a consultancy arrangement where I can teach him what to do and he can DIY it! ????????♂?
I politely replied that my consultancy fees were as expensive as my services and therefore he wouldn't be able to afford them either.
People who try to DIY this never do a good job.
They only half listen, they don't have a strategy for either content or social selling, they don't know about how to really use Sales Navigator Advanced and SmartLinks, they don't even know how to put up a banner than can be seen on their profile on the mobile etc.
They think that they know better.
It becomes a waste of time.
It's my experience on the LinkedIn marketing side is that I can tell you what to do, I can given you my 4th No.1 International Best Selling book, "How to become a LinkedIn Rock Star", but 99% of you won't do it any of it.

Never going to happen!
No idea why people bother trying this on.

Why he didn't factor his time cost, petrol, parking charge when deciding on a dollar matter? Another entrepreneur refused to heed my advice in transferring her $$$ in bank current account to deposit for earning interest when at that time bank interest was high. She claim not worth the 30 mins to queue But she can argue with her daughter's teacher over assessment for an hr. She felt her daughter should get A grade instead of B
