Why do I regain weight after a diet?

After years of dieting, losing weight, and then regaining it (with interest), I decided to dig deeper into the root cause.
When I looked at my genetic profile, I found out I’m in the 86th percentile for weight regain.
That means 14% of people are more likely than me to yo-yo diet!
But while this might seem like a small victory, it hasn't made the process any less challenging. Over the years, I’ve faced the frustrating cycle of losing weight, only to see it return.
In my 50s, this became even more pronounced. Despite best efforts, my previous weight loss was hitting me harder than ever. So, I wondered: What could I do to reduce this frustrating cycle?
I looked to my genes for the solution. My genetics might influence my tendencies, but, on the other hand, knowing how my genetics affect my weight regain, I can use that information to counter it! For me, that has meant following some basic rules. This includes a lifestyle-based approach to my diet, specifically a Mediterranean-style diet, along with incorporating specific herbs and minerals to boost my metabolism and keep blood sugar levels in check.
These work for me, based on the genetic influences that cause me to be in the 86th Percentile.
These strategies have helped me maintain control over my weight for the last five years, with just a few lapses here and there.
Understanding my body and tailoring my approach has made all the difference.
