Why do I love our Trunk Shows?

Our trunk shows are all about the fabric. That’s because the vast majority of the suits, jackets and trousers we sell are made from fabrics that we have woven.? This is something we are very proud of and is a critical reason for why we were successful through Covid.

Our finest fabrics are made at Holland and Sherry, which we acquired in 2003.? Holland and Sherry has been around since 1836, when Saville Row was beginning to really take flight. ? Other fabrics come from Crossville Fabric in Tome, Chile, which we started from scratch in approximately 2003 and opened 4 to 5 years later to help our growing business.

Beautiful fabrics are organic.? That’s what you get when your focus is on wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and silk.? Things that are organic have a shelf life and require a certain level of care.? As such, when any fabric is still in inventory beyond 2 or 3 seasons from their issuance, we are eager to offer them at our trunk shows. We are able to discount them 25% on up to 60%.

Why do I love our trunk shows specifically here in Wisconsin???

Because we really experience all 4 seasons!? Many men have wardrobes of seasonless, and no offense here, but drab wardrobes.? And work with me here...but in a place where temperatures literally span beyond 100 degrees, there is no such thing as seasonless. Let's not fool ourselves, Wisconsin isn't San Diego.

The idea of a tweed or flannel for winter, or maybe a wool/cotton blend or linen for summer would make all kinds of sense. It creates synergy with the life we're living and is really enjoyable. Well…enter the importance of the trunk shows! There is a real plethora of unique and wonderful seasonal fabric.

This is a Moorland Tweed fabric from Holland and Sherry offerred at the trunk show. It has the beautiful characteristics we expect from tweed (durability, wrinkle resistance, warmth) but is a lighter weight, and perfect for mild temperatures.

Yes, we have great options for season-less basics like your boardroom suit, tuxedo, navy blazer or day-to-day trousers.? And the trunk show works great for these items, as we can increase the level of luxury in the fabric at a nice value.? But be advised, my objective is to help bring something versatile and beautiful into the wardrobe that caters to the seasons we live in.? For me, that’s when the wardrobe can become something enjoyable.

For those of you that are trunk show regulars, I'm looking forward to seeing you soon. For others that are interested, have questions, or would like me to text options or set up a virtual meeting, just let me know.
