Why do bad things happen?
Have you ever wondered if there is a God who cares, why is there wickedness and suffering?
Most religions cannot answer this question. Yet the answer is simple.
The Bible tells us that God created Adam and Eve, and they lived in a paradise garden free of bad things. They had perfect health and would have lived forever. But then they rebelled against God’s authority and got themselves kicked out. By rejecting God’s rule over them, they lost his protection. Man has since, tried to rule himself. This is why the world is such a mess. The state the world is in, shows that Man is unable to govern himself.
“I well know, O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” (Jeremiah 10:23)
The Bible’s words are proved true by the conditions we see around us. No human leader or government can remove sin and death from mankind and truly solve our problems. Only God can do that.
“. . .For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and it is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom paid by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23, 24)
You have probably been told that all you need to do is to accept Jesus as your savoir and you are saved. Unfortunately for many, they have been told a lie. Jesus said that to be saved, one has to remain faithful until death.
“. . .But the one who has endured to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:13)
If it was just simply a matter of believing, one would not have to endure. Jesus explained; ““Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.” (Matthew 7:21)
And what is the Father’s will? “Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.. . .” (Matthew 28:18-20)
To become one of the true followers of Jesus we need to do two things, live by what Jesus has told us and preach the good news of the kingdom. That brings me to why I have written this letter. To tell you about the kingdom. It is a government that has been set up in heaven with Jesus as king. In the near future, this kingdom will extend its rule over the earth and remove wickedness, sin and death. It will end all human suffering. The paradise will be restored earth wide, and mankind will have perfect government that will solve all of our problems. It will be as if Adam and Eve had not sinned, the world will be restored to the way that God meant for it to be. This is the world we all long for, the world we were meant to have been born in. That is why we have trouble living in this world, we were created to live in paradise, a perfect world free of evil and suffering.
Following Jesus’ command to preach the good news of the kingdom earth wide, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been searching for the citizens of the coming kingdom government. Would you like to live forever in paradise right here on earth and see your dead loved ones come back to life?
“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” (John 5:28, 29)
