WHY DIDN'T YOU GET AN OFFER?

WHY DIDN'T YOU GET AN OFFER?

????Our next topic will be one of the hardest one – rejections. We want to help you to work with them in a way that gives you self and professional development. Upon it, your next job interview might go a little smoother.

Start with THREE general reasons why juniors get rejected:

1. Mistakes in technical assignment or lack of theoretical knowledge.?

????As a young specialist, be ready to answer a lot of questions about the chosen technique. That’s why we emphasize your attention to decent preparation for the job interview. Long story short, know the base.

2. Low level of English.?

????Of course, it depends on the sphere where you want to work, but mostly companies give an offer to candidates with higher English level. So, if you have any concerns, it would be better to find a way to improve your skills.

3. Uncertainty in your career direction.?

????You have to know clearly why you’ve chosen this direction. Because, how can you arouse the interest of others if you yourself are not interested?

Let's move on. The next part is refers to information about how to work with the rejections wisely:

?????? Don't be afraid to seem a little annoying.

????If you did not receive feedback within the specified time, do not be afraid to write that you are still waiting. For this, you should ask during the interview when and who gives it to you.

?????? You can show extra interest in the feedback.

????When you do not receive the desired detailed feedback about yourself, you can write to the Recruiter or HR on additional communication channels. Just don't forget that they should be corporate, not personal. These contacts are usually left in the description of the vacancy.

?????? ''Bugs'' fixing.?

????It’s pretty obvious that after you're getting feedback, you have to work harder to reach improvement. And we want to share some non-obvious tips to reach success:

  1. Simulate an interview.
  2. Prepare your questions and write down answers to possible questions for you.
  3. Find something that sets you apart from other candidates and make it your bargaining chip.
  4. Don't be afraid to talk about yourself and your projects if it fits the job description. Volunteer/personal projects, university assignments – everything will be great.

?????? Step into the same river?

????Most of the candidates are afraid of going for the second time to the same company after having a rejection, but there is really nothing in it. Especially if you really want to work in this team.

????You can write to the recruiter after advanced training that you want to go through the interview again. It would also be great to show the result of your development during this period, for example, thanks to a certificate for improving the level of the English language.

????And here we are. Share with us, how often do Recruiters and HR managers give you extended feedback after a rejection? Do you feel a strong need for this, or can you mostly judge yourself on your own?
