Why Did You Subscribe to The Nonprofit Leader Newsletter?

Perhaps you;

  • Resonated with the topic that day
  • Liked the photo I used for an article
  • Were in a generous mood
  • Accidentally clicked accept :)

For whatever reason, you are one of the 19,386 subscribers to The Nonprofit Leader. My ambition for the newsletter is not just numbers. My goal is to build a community of like-minded leaders who are passionate about making a difference and supporting each other. A place where emerging nonprofit leaders can find and give the encouragement that is needed to sustain them in their important work.

Sure, it may sound a bit high minded, but that's the kind of guy I am. I think big and want to make a tangible impact. Part of me still wants to change the world for the better. It is why I (and, I would guess, you) were drawn to the mission-driven workplace.

My writing has focused on the issues that leaders grapple with behind the scenes. Not just the "how to" issues, but the things that keep us up in the middle of the night; the emotional challenges of leading. Not much content on LinkedIn addresses that, but its the place we live the majority of our days.

LinkedIn has limitations in building this type of community.

  • The sheer volume of competing voices makes having a sustained conversation difficult.
  • The algorithm delivers content by its own inscrutable logic. Sometimes you see my posts/content and sometimes you don't. Something that you would benefit by, you don't even know exists.
  • Creating a community amongst readers is nearly impossible.

So....

While I will continue a LinkedIn presence, I am actively building on another platform that can better foster the community I envision. Substack is a social media platform more tuned in for writers and their communities. It is a calmer room where a dialogue can take place. My newsletter there is delivered to your email faithfully, and you can simply read it there from the comfort of your inbox or add comments on the site for fellow subscribers to see.

My goal is to get as many of you as possible to make this move with me. I know the shift of platform can be confusing and the fact that I'm charging a subscription for the Substack newsletter can be a challenge.

Because you have been a faithful part of this newsletter, I'm offering an incentive of 70% off the normal subscription. From now through April 7 you can subscribe to the Substack version for $15 per year.

Simply click this link to claim your offer. Feel free to send it along to friends who might also want to join this community: https://nonprofitleader.substack.com/59a282a7

Thanks for your support in building this community. I hope this newsletter is a helpful part of your leadership journey.

No interest because this post is a commercial way to sell your company! LinkedIn should not be a sales app. Or am U wrong ????
