Three years ago, my business partner, James Meltz and I established Transform Alliance.
James surprised me with a beautiful gift - our first dirham was framed with the date when it was earned, 30 March 2017.
Do you know why we framed our first dirham?
The frame itself cost more than its contents. But it's not just a dirham/dollar — it's a reminder. It's a reminder of the risk and personal sacrifice that business owners take on, and it's a reminder of the reward that can follow. This was the American version of our first dirham.
We also added the values that I have been raised with. We vowed that we will only earn clean money and each dirham needed to be vetted.
It may sound too good to be true, but we have said NO to some projects. This has allowed us to sleep well knowing that we have not harmed another human being nor have we withheld someone else’s money.
Everyone of us is responsible about the money we earn – be true to your values and the monetary rewards will follow.
