Why Did We Create Chirpy?

We have a passion and a dream. We want to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone around us. We absolutely believe we can make a difference. Most of our team is over 55 and is well aware of the challenges facing this age bracket every day.

There is a silent killer - and it’s called loneliness. Why are we so afraid to talk about it? Do we feel ashamed to admit we are lonely? Whether you are married, divorced or widowed - we can all be lonely. Just last week an Ex US Surgeon General came out and stated that loneliness is like smoking 15 cigarettes a day - worse than obesity! In the last 2 weeks alone, there have been 5 major articles published about loneliness today for over 55’s.

We have invested 2 years and waaaaaay too much money in creating an online platform that is safe, secure and private. An easy to use tool to meet new people, you can see all our members around you on a map so it’s easy to find someone close and ask for a coffee. No we are not a dating site, we are a site that encourages everyone to make better connections, better friends. When we have friends - we live longer, we are happier, we are healthier.

But we went further - we know how tough it is to survive today on the pension and a fixed income. We have gone out and found local secret deals that only the locals know about, through our Ambassador program, we are also forming key corporate partnerships around Australia to save our members money every month.

Yes, we are a paid member model. It costs $5 a month to be a part of Chirpy. Why do we charge? Simply, it keeps our members engaged, it provides us the cashflow to ensure our platform is fully moderated (ie we keep the bad people out). But we understand the skeptics - we are sceptical too - that’s why we offer a month free membership trial before you are even charged $5 (less than a large coffee) and for the first 500 members - we are offering a 90 day trial at no cost to see what we do. We say that if you are not saving $20 a month with Chirpy - don’t stay. That's how serious we are.
