Why did I Choose an AMOLED Display Phone Over LCD Display? - 9 Reasons

Whether I'm using my phone for social media browsing, watching videos, playing games, or simply using apps, the display is one of the most crucial aspects I look for in a new gadget. And after using both AMOLED and LCD screens, I can state with confidence that I much prefer my phone's AMOLED display to its conventional LCD. Let me tell you why.

  1. When I made the switch to an AMOLED phone, I was immediately struck by how vivid the colors appeared. Rich, vibrant colors are brought out by AMOLED screens, giving everything, including pictures and videos, a much more vibrant appearance. The pictures seem to pop off the screen whether I'm browsing Instagram or watching a movie. Particularly in comparison to an LCD, the contrast is astounding. When I first used an AMOLED display, I noticed right away that the colors simply looked more intense and natural.
  2. When a pixel in an AMOLED display needs to be black, it is turned off because each pixel illuminates separately. The screen feels much more immersive as a result of the deep, inky blacks that are produced. When playing video games or watching movies in dimly lit settings, I truly value this. LCDs, on the other hand, frequently have backlight bleed, which makes blacks appear more grayish. This makes the difference extremely apparent, particularly in scenes with less light.
  3. I'm constantly worried about battery life, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that AMOLED screens use less energy when showing darker content. AMOLED screens only illuminate the pixels that require illumination, in contrast to LCDs, which require a backlight to illuminate the entire screen. Compared to when I had an LCD screen, I find that my battery lasts a little longer when I switch to a dark mode theme, which I do frequently. It's a little thing, but daily, it has a big impact.
  4. Another important factor in my preference is how thin AMOLED screens are. Because AMOLED screens don't need the large backlight layer that LCD screens do, I adore the sleek, contemporary appearance of phones with these screens. This enables manufacturers to produce phones with thinner bezels and, in certain situations, curved edges or foldable designs. When I'm using my phone for extended periods or carrying it in my pocket, my current AMOLED phone feels much lighter and more compact.
  5. The contrast ratio was what drew me to AMOLED. When comparing an AMOLED screen to an LCD, the contrast between the light and dark regions is significantly more noticeable. Everything appears more dynamic and detailed when I'm viewing HDR content or even just looking at pictures because of the contrast. The whites are pure and the blacks are flawless. For my eyes, it's a more balanced and enjoyable experience, particularly when I'm staring at something for a long time.
  6. The viewing angles on my AMOLED phone are another feature I adore. I don't have to be concerned about the display losing its clarity or vibrancy whether I'm holding my phone at an odd angle or sitting it on a table. AMOLED screens retain their brightness regardless of the viewing angle, in contrast to LCD screens, which can lose their colors and contrast when viewed from the side. This is especially helpful when I'm showing a friend a picture or video and we're both viewing the screen from different angles.
  7. One of my favorite benefits of AMOLED screens is the Always-On Display feature. The ability to quickly check the time, date, and notifications on my phone without having to wake it up is something I adore. One of AMOLED's advantages is that the display can remain on without consuming a lot of battery power. It makes my phone look cool and futuristic, and it's convenient when I'm on the go.
  8. I've discovered that AMOLED screens are generally easier to read outside than LCD screens because I live in an area with a lot of sunlight. Even in direct sunlight, the colors are vibrant, and I don't need to turn up the brightness as much as I did with my previous LCD phone. Because the display is more visible, using it outside is much more pleasurable. Before I went through it myself, I didn't think it would have a significant impact.
  9. You will value AMOLED screens' support for HDR if you frequently watch high-definition video. HDR content stands out in a way that an LCD can't quite match thanks to AMOLED's higher contrast ratio and deeper blacks. Whether I'm playing a game that fully utilizes HDR or watching the newest blockbuster on Netflix, the result is a more visually stunning and immersive experience.

When compared to LCDs, I've discovered that AMOLED screens provide better contrast, higher color quality, and more battery life. Everything looks better and feels more immersive on the AMOLED screen, whether I'm watching my favorite movies, playing games, or simply browsing social media.

In my opinion, the AMOLED display is the obvious winner due to its brilliant colors, true blacks, energy efficiency, and elegant design. It's an experience rather than just a show. Furthermore, since I use my phone a lot, I wouldn't trade it in for an LCD screen anytime soon.
