This week has been tough for HR professionals, who are dedicated to creating positive, rewarding, and healthy workplaces fit for high employee engagement and success. The biggest blow came from the 6-3 Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action, which will have ripple effects throughout society but especially at institutions of higher learning and professional settings. At a time when diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are under attack, this decision will exacerbate the challenge faced by HR.?
Leaders in HR and diversity will be joining HR Exchange Network soon to have hard conversations about why DEI is under attack and how to take action to ensure your organization does not go backward and continues to make progress. Join us for the DEIB event July 11 and 12 to interact with speakers from Siemens, Northwestern University, Leaf Group, Invitae, and more. You'll also have the chance to network and gain insight and practical tips about how you - as an individual - can influence change in the diversity and inclusion space.?
Human Resources professionals who think DEI is a secondary priority are mistaken. It is at the heart of retention strategy and aligning talent management with business objectives. Loud quitting is no coincidence. People are angry about their treatment at work. Employees who feel included, valued, seen, and heard will go the extra mile for you. They will feel part of something greater than themselves. They will fight to ensure you keep winning. You'll have to make plans for rewarding them, but you'll reap many rewards yourself. In other words, they'll make HR look good.?
Of course, diversity in your workforce is necessary to gain greater perspective, which leads to more innovation and higher achievements. This is common knowledge. We've always had to keep doing the work to make progress on DEI. But now the stakes are higher, and the job is more challenging. Now is the time we all have to do our part. If you're making change in ways big and small, we want to hear about it. Share with us on LinkedIn. Join us at the DEIB event. Become part of our community. Together, we can ensure that no court ruling ends this mission of fairness, equality, inclusion, and belonging for all. Carry on!?
