Why Daily worshipping is needed in Hinduism?

Hinduism is a very broad and free path; no pujas are mandatory for all Hindus. Members of certain families may have family requirements, and those who choose to take initiation in certain paths may take on various obligations. Most Hindus at least perform brief daily puja rites in their home, maybe making an offering of flowers or fruit to an image of a Devata (probably their Kula Devata). Beyond such simple basics, the components of a puja vary greatly according to the Sampradaya, local community and regional customs, time of day, the desires of the worshipper, and whether they are following a particular set of instructions from the Shastras.
Elaborate pujas are more often performed in temples by priests, and less often by common Hindus. The more elaborate puja format typically follows the ancient Indian procedures for honoring a royal guest, offered to the Murti. In even more elaborate cases, such as for the main deity of a temple with multiple full-time dedicated priests, or in rare cases in a traditional, very devout Hindu family home, the main Devata is worshipped throughout the day every day, with separate pujas to gently rouse them from sleep, ritually bathe and dress them, serve them breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and put them to bed for the night. The shraddha rite to one’s departed ancestors is also very important, and may be considered a type of puja.?
First you need to understand why should we worship and whom should we worship? Most of the people worship different Gods thinking that it‘ll bring them prosperity and good health. Some people worship different Gods thinking that He’ll reduce the effect of their karmas and they won't go through hardships. However this theory is completely wrong. Do you seriously think that God will favour someone who worships Him over others ? It is not even worshipping, it is like bribing the God. God is impartial. Whether you worship Him or not, it doesn't matter at all. Everyone of us will face the results of our karmas irrespective of whether we worship or not. Simply asking for favours doesn't work. All the stories confirming the same have been concocted by the people with vested interests since ages.
This whole world works on the system of karma. We start an action and we receive a reaction. God has nothing to do with it but we have inserted God into our karmic cycle in the hope of getting rid of our karmas. Let me give you an example. Suppose one was to suffer because of his/her past karmas for two years. Now when one was going through this bad phase, one fine day he/she started praying to God for relief. Now after two years that day comes when his/her suffering gets over.?
Now because he/she was praying to God continuously during those two years, he/she starts believing that his/her suffering has ended because he/she prayed. However it had nothing to do with his/her worship but it creates his/her belief in God and worship. Now one keeps on praying to God or worshipping Him thinking that He’ll take care of him/her just like He did in the past. But one forgets that he/she may have asked for thousand things from God but God has only granted him/her few of them. And those few good things happened to him/her only because of his/her karmas, God had nothing to do with it. Otherwise everything he/she had asked must have come true.

Thinking rationally takes a lot of courage. We have always been told to fear the God. Now if one tries to think rationally, the first thing which comes up to one’s mind is, he/she is discrediting the God for all His mercy. Almost all of us stop thinking rationally further at this point only and this game of fearing the God and worshipping Him for even more favours continues. Whatever one desires, he/she is bound to get it, the only question is when ? It may come true tomorrow and it may come true after 10 lives depending upon the nature of desire and one’s karmas. It is an automated system of Nature. God has nothing to do with it. So praying for fulfilment of desires is completely useless.
Humans possess a unique quality. A human can always change its core nature, no other being on this earth can do that. God has given us free will and the ability of discretion. No matter what have you done in past, you can always use your wisdom and discretion abilities to work towards betterment of your own self. Coming to the daily routine , in my opinion one should ask the God only for wisdom. You may have all the luxuries in the world but if you don't have wisdom it is of no use. One should do two things in the morning when one wakes up. When you wake up, before putting your feet on the ground, touch the ground with your palm and then touch it to your head and thank the earth for providing you everything. Earth is our mother, whatever we need, we take it from the earth only. Once done, pray to God/Maa/Nature to grant you wisdom. You can say that in your language, She understands all the languages of the world. This much is enough for a commoner.
If you want to go beyond your human self and understand how nature works then it is a very slow process. It requires years of practise and patience. We do that by understanding our own body and using it for our upliftment. That is called sadhana. As Hinduism is a broad concept, one can choose their own free path as they are many pujas like Ganesh Chaturthi, Krishna Ashtami, and many age-old poojas. As Hindu, daily we perform at least 5 min puja or perform meditation for 20 min, but our ultimate aim is to reach the higher self and attain a peaceful stage. at the same time, they decorate their house, pooja room with various flowers, garlands and offer fruits and different prasadams. This is the month of Shravana and we perform Mangala Gauri pooja by offering multiple Naivedya -- here is one of the example -- how we perform Shravana maasam pooja that you can do any time of the year.
Daily praying to god (morning and evening) doesn’t called as “Pooja’. For daily praying a painting of god or goddess (you like) is required. Then you need is a Lamp, Agarbattis and things to lit the lamp. After taking a bath ( a good bath will always rejuvenate body) clean the lamp and arrange god or goddess with flowers you can afford. Then lit the lamp, after that lit Agarbattis. Pray with peaceful mind. You don't need to know mantra’s for praying and not require a CD player to play bhakti songs. Just try to pray with a peaceful mind. Begin with this slowly you will notice the changes coming to you.? May God keep you blessed

2 年Very true. Starting the day with calm and spiritual uplifted self will make the day go better. Likewise evening prayers can calm you down take away any slag you gathered during your daytime work. The point is proper way of doing this prayer rather than doing it like going thru a drive thru when ordering and picking up food. Beautiful share.????????????
