On why Curiosity > Expertise

Are you a #newgraduate? Or are you in your first few years of work experience? If so, I encourage you to focus more on Curiosity than on Expertise.
Expertise is something which is developed over a period of time and cultivated through experience, so by definition (and acknowledging the rare exception), you most likely don’t have it yet. I remember being young and trying so hard to establish my credibility, to prove my expertise. But early in my career, the reality was that I didn’t legitimately have any. So rather than investing energy in trying to prove my worth, I should have been spending my time to learn as much as I could. In fact, I think I'm still in that curiosity/learning mode today.
And that’s where Curiosity comes in. What questions do you have about how the business operates? What intrigues you about the industry, about the marketplace? What do you not understand? Don’t hide that lack of understanding, but rather in your earlier days, seek to fill those knowledge gaps the best you can. You’ll be so much stronger for it later. #FourFormulas
