Why Culture Is The Secret Key to Innovation
There’s a reason mindset is at the center of this universe.
A person’s mindset has a lot to do with their behavior, and how they approach and react to business and personal challenges (and opportunities). That’s why in business, mindset has a lot to do with culture. As this article in Harvard Business Review points out, “Innovative companies sustain a track record of success by creating the right ‘climate’ for employees to cultivate the innovation mindset — to think different, act different, and achieve extraordinary success.”
Culture is that climate. Get it right and your team will have the mindset to do the work that matters, even when nobody is telling them what to do.

9 年Evidence abounds...check out the very simple and pervasive Gallup Q12 Survey results for evidence. Mindset and an alignment to an organization's culture (mission, vision, values) has absolutely everything to do with innovation, with highly engaged employees and customers and ultimately, with marketplace success. Disconnects between mindset and culture drive dissonance and turnover among employees, customers and suppliers. These are facts; face it and do something to make your organization better. Given that an organization has the most control over their employees, use your talent acquisition and retention strategy to link mindset, culture and success!

9 年When I see headlines like this one, I optimistically think that there will be a unique insight on this complex issue, and that the insight is backed by solid evidence. Optimism dashed in this case because it is just calling attention to the author's business. I suggest these postings are labelled informercials or the authors get straight to the point and talk about their unique experience (and tangible results) in working with culture, mindset and innovation.
