Why Create Content When No One Engages...

?? Case in point. If you're curious as to what post she is referencing, check it out here . Yes, we want people to engage with our content. We spent a ton of time curating our content. And we're damn proud of it. Additionally, engagements aka liking, hearting, caring, laughing, insightful, and comments impact impressions. Engagements drive impressions aka how many newsfeeds you show up on. So I get it...metrics are helpful.

AND....metrics can be disguised as vanity metrics. Why do I say this? Well, again, did you look at the evidentiary support above? Yeah...so let's dive into how you can reframe your thoughts around creating attraction marketing content:

  • Create content for your loyal lurkers - the ones who won't or can't engage with your content. Instead, focus on creating content to be digested by your ideal clients. Just because they're not engaging, doesn't mean they're not reading it or thinking about it.
  • Content creation is about leveraging your platform to increase awareness, elevate your thought leadership, and provide value.
  • Creating content is also such a fun way for creative expression. To leverage your voice and use it to empower others.
  • If you want more engagements, then create posts that are bold and honestly, piss people off. Let me be clear - this is not permission to be an asshole. It does mean sharing a polarizing stance on something. Get people talking by taking a stance on something. Example: Are you pro-green open to work banner or not?

Lastly, stay the course aka stay consistent with your content. Soon you'll be receiving DMs like the one above. Those messages, not vanity metrics, will confirm that your content is working.

?? Mollie
