Why it could be cheaper to buy than rent
This week we sold a property to clients who were initially considering renting for the next 12 months. After looking at the limited availability of suitable rental properties to meet their needs, as well as the rising costs of rentals, they decided that buying provided them both certainty as well as the cost effectiveness of investing their hard earned money back into an asset.
There is a sense of comfort with many buyers at present about the Brisbane market as prices continue to perform with stability. In many cases, buying continues to be a more cost effective option over renting, particularly with the long term projections of Brisbane's property growth remaining solid over the next decade, driven by both a sound economy, strong employment and the Olympics.
