Why COP summits make us feel deceived

Why COP summits make us feel deceived

The COP summit is a meeting of representatives from the countries that are part of the United Nations Framework Convention on #Climatechange (UNFCCC). It is held every year to assess the previous year's accomplishments and to plan for the #future.

The problem is that the COP summit has not been very successful in achieving its goals. The emissions of greenhouse gases continue to rise, and the world is not on track to meet the targets set in the Paris Agreement. This has led to a feeling of betrayal among many people who feel that their governments are not doing enough to combat climate change.

It is important to remember that the COP summit is not the only forum for discussion on climate change. Many other meetings and conferences are working to find solutions to this global problem.

What should be done by the COP summit to achieve climate targets?

Several things should be done by the COP summit to achieve climate targets.

Firstly, they should aim to increase the level of ambition in climate change mitigation, reduce emissions and slow the rate of climate change.

Secondly, they should focus on supporting developing countries to help them adapt to the impacts of climate change and develop low-carbon economies.

Finally, they should promote transparency and accountability in the implementation of climate commitments, to ensure that they are being met.

Why can't accurate climate-saving technology be revealed at the COP summit?

There is no one proper climate-saving technology. Different countries and organizations have different ideas about what needs to be done to address climate change, and there is no consensus on the best way to proceed. Many of the technologies that have been proposed to address climate change are still in the early stages of development and need more research and testing before they can be implemented on a large scale. Therefore, it is not possible to reveal the proper climate-saving technology at the COP summit.

However, in my opinion, the team of COP specialists have to have a suggestion for or access to planet-saving technology, at the very least, to make it available to the leaders and countries.

But what do we need to act on climate?

We require international norms or guidelines that provide nation leaders with thorough country analyses.

Let me bring you up and give you a thorough explanation. Let's use India as an example of a developing nation. Due to the extreme heat in the south of India, we can only use solar energy better. We can use wind energy if we look at north India, where the winds are strong. Not only is it making recommendations based on the area, but it is also making recommendations based on the economy, population, and other factors that should be offered to the leader of India, such as increased food production and decreased plastic waste.

The COP panel of experts should also set a timeframe and apply penalties if the conditions are not satisfied by the deadline. The COP squad received a penalty from that country after the deadlines were missed. The COP team shall employ the penalty that was paid for by a certain country and be allocated to that same nation. Then hasten the transition to a sustainable, climate-friendly planet.

"There is no one proper climate-saving technology." What? Every carbon2product tech is efficient and effective towards a Net-Zero industrial landscape. Check what we are doing at PROTe-IN, for instance.

Interesting- sometimes I feel the lack of grassroot implementor voices is apparent where you can have true and meaningful conversations on What can be done

Thank you Bachu Rajeshwar ???? I don't think there is a lack of solutions, but rather a lack of implementation and funding.
