Why Contribute to Little Linksters?

With all that is going on in the world, I completely understand that there are many, many other important organizations that need support and for far more important things than what it is that my organization does and offers.

I want you to consider these points however...

When our youth need an outlet, to get away from the craziness of life, they often turn to sports. Golf is the sport myself and our organization focusses on. With that in mind, there are many kids, and their parents more specifically, that often struggle with the costs of sports. While some may say, "Brendon, just give it to them for free if you are that passionate about helping" I say this, "That is exactly what we are trying to do, when its needed, however, myself, along with my coaches, make our livings coaching and leading the students that play the game and that costs money. We don't want to have money be a barrier to the kids and parents, but at the same time, we want to compensate our coaches that provide the quality programming and coaching that they do. In addition, while I can indeed get discounts and deals on equipment and supplies, which are needed to provide quality programming, they cost money too. This is why our nonprofit was formed and this is why we fundraise."

Another point to consider for those that say "Golf?" According to a recent study by the National Federation of State High School Associations, of the top 10 sports among boys, High School Golf was the only one that showed growth (+3.8 %) in the 2021-2022 school year. With nearly 150,000 boys playing high school golf, and 81,000 girls, in the 2021-2022 school year combined, roughly 230,000 kids play golf in high school. You look at stats from the National Golf Foundation, and others that track participation in the game, and youth specifically, and you can see the explosion that has happened in recent years with kids playing golf...not just in high school, or competitively, but in general, from younger ages and up.

What is even more eye opening is the fact that there are actually MORE KIDS THAT DO NOT currently play the game, who say that they ARE INTRESTED IN PLAYING than there are kids that actually play now...that's a mind blowing reality for someone like me that makes a living in the game and has a passion for trying to breakdown barriers for kids to get involved.

The reasons vary on why those that don't play, but are interested in doing so, have not gotten involved yet...but I can assure you, that access, exposure and costs are at the top of the list.

That is where grassroots organizations like Little Linksters come into play.
