Why Content Needs to Be Your Marketing Strategy | World of Advertising #005
Building a reputation, creating awareness, driving traffic to your site, increasing viewership and sales... this all happens through advertising and marketing. It seems as if everyone has a side hustle now. Something they're trying to sell on Instagram.
This article dives into the importance of content creation for your marketing and advertising strategy and the importance of quality/quantity.
Selling vs. Creating
You've seen the hundreds of Instagram stories. "Use my code for 10% off your 1st purchase" "These clothes are so cute, tag your friends in this post for a chance to win". This is sales. The company that hires these people to post for them has a sales based marketing strategy. Their goal is to get people from Instagram to their website.
Creating content looks different. It doesn't have a call to action, it has a story or explanation of features/benefits. This is the company taking time to create a :60 second review for a new product to highlight what makes it unique. It's a company hiring "influencers" on social media to TALK about the product NOT sell it. (See YouTubers being sent products for free if they make a review on their channel)
Quality & Quantity
This is where finesse and balance play a crucial role in your marketing strategy. Your content creation strategy needs to have quality high production value consistently posted in order to breed results.
You can create the best video ever, the best looking professionally produced/edited thing your company has ever made, and if you only post that 1 piece of content you won't see results, at least not the ones you'd hope to see.
It's only through consistency that you can begin to develop reputation, create awareness, drive traffic, and ultimately increase sales.
On my personal Instagram Page I've been posting more about my apparel brand Aden James. Each week I throw 3-6 stories up with a new look/outfit. I'm not asking for sales, there's no caption or discount code. Just a simple post. I do the same thing with my Cybertruck rental business. Just a few simple posts, the consistency will create the results.
TL;DR
Creating high quality content and posting it consistently to your social media pages is the only way to breed results.
Finding balance and finesse over a long period of time will help you achieve the ultimate goal of any business, sales.
