Jim Neighbors founded Focusing Forward after 33 ? years working as a civilian in the Department of Defense.?

“There is one main reason I started and continue to do independent consulting and that is freedom.? Freedom to work on the projects I want to add value to, the people and organizations I want to work with, and when I want to work.? It is also the freedom to think about the ideas you have and the solutions you know will work but haven’t been tried yet.”

When asked why he decided to start Focusing Forward, Jim says:

“I had a desire to still serve, so I began Focusing Forward around a vision for a single member consulting firm helping companies bring great value to the Federal Government.? It quickly became apparent that there are so many talented people retiring every day from the federal government and military and if I could capture these knowledge, skills, and abilities, the value Focusing Forward could bring would grow very quickly.? In eight years we have grown from a single member to over 150 consultants that our clients can choose from!”
