Did you know that the legendary “King of Rock and Roll” Elvis Presley’s famous leg-shaking dance was a result of his nerves from performing a paid live show for the first time? His legs were trembling so much that it was almost visible, but instead of letting it show, he swayed his hips and moved his legs to the rhythm as he did what he did best: sing. His ‘odd’ and ‘vulgar’ dance moves drove people wild despite how conservative times were back then, and the reason for it?
The crowd loved how Elvis confidently did what no one else did. Everything from then on is history.
Confidence has always been a part of how one navigates through life. If you’re constantly down in the slumps, people who vibe around positivity will avoid you; if you’re bright and positive, people will want to be a part of your circle. Having confidence is like wearing the outfit you look and feel best in, without the part where you have to take it off sometimes. People who believe in themselves can effortlessly make other people believe in them as well.
Confidence inspires a sense of security in others. Everyone wants to be with someone with whom they can feel safe. In romantic relationships as well, people find stability and safety extremely important to have. You’d want a partner who can take care of him or herself, and in turn, you both can have a life together which you don’t have to constantly worry about in the long run.
Confident people do not pin their successes or failures on other people. As persons who are content with how they are, confident people will not easily crumble when things in life don’t go the way they’re expected to. Confident people have their own backs. Again, with that Elvis example. Before he became known as the King, he was merely a singer who performed at small gigs. Despite that, he didn’t let his anxiety get the better of him during his first important show. Instead, he let his passion and goals do the work.

Also, confident people are attractive because of their level of confidence that reflects their self-value. A person who sees his self-worth values himself and won’t settle for anything less. Finding and maintaining a relationship first requires one to be aware that they are worthy of it. They know what they want in life and would be around people that have similar values.
Now, do you notice how you cover your mouth when you laugh because you’re conscious about how toothy it looks? Or when you’re about to give a handshake and instead of focusing on the person in front of you, you worry more about how sweaty your palm might be? You can slowly build your confidence by first, examining the thoughts in your head that might be holding you back. Start with the little things to begin gaining more confidence in yourself. As you work through the process from having a low confidence level to being sure of yourself, you’ll start seeing the world in a different, more positive light. The tribe that you attract then would surely be of your vibe!
Here is a video on how you can build and boost your confidence, and make it the most beautiful thing you can wear.
Be #INCONTROL of yourself today.?One Day or Day One, you decide.?
