WHY IS COMPETITION HEALTHY FOR THE ECONOMY - A BUSINESS CASE OF LAST MILE INDUSTRY

  • I strongly believe in the importance of healthy and open competition for our Bahraini National Economy. Take the example of the Last Mile industry in Bahrain where one company dominates 90% of the food delivery business in Bahrain, a market size of not less than One Hundred Fifty Million Dinar market. The domination of one delivery company that takes a margin above 30% for every food order has excessively eroded the margins of thousands of restaurants and coffee shops and led to the closures of hundred of restaurants over the past three years.
  • Just imagine the margins on food ordering is reduced by 50%, which is now possible, the restaurants and the national economy will have a cash surplus of BD 22.5 million per annum. This amount is capable of paying salaries at BD 450 for 4,166 jobs per annum.
  • More jobs means higher velocity of money in the economy and better prospects for the society and its people.
  • Join our hands to disrupt monopoly and create better opportunities for businesses and people.
