Why Colorado doesn't have rent control and probably never will
It's not just a Denver thing, but state wide. In 1981 the legislature prohibited rent controlled apartments and it hasn't changed in 35 years. This is one of the better articles on the subject by Erica Meltzer.

8 年.... With today's economic conditions, it's inexcusable that no one has stepped in & regulated Colorado rents - and the real estate developers continue to build more and more units! I think the Market will reach a 'critical mass' soon if nothing is done to stop this trend.

8 年because Denver prioritize affordable housing, but based on a person earning $43,200 for a family of three. I'm thinking what about the people on min. wage earning $18,000 a year; what is affordable housing for them?
