Why Collaboration is Key in Animal Welfare

At Animal Action Greece, we have witnessed firsthand how combining our unique strengths leads to better outcomes for the animals we serve.

Our recent outreach trip to Taxiarchis, Greece, is a perfect example. In September 2024, working alongside the animal welfare organisation ARTEMIS, we undertook two separate 5-day sterilisation outreaches to manage the increasing number of stray animals in the area. Over this period, a total of 96 cats and 176 dogs were successfully neutered, an important step in controlling the local stray population. We were also joined by Special Secretary Mr. Chrysakis, Mayor Mr. Kotzias, and the director of the local police stations. This outreach highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between animal welfare organisations, the Municipality, and local law enforcement in addressing the stray animal crisis.?

The success stories that emerge from collaborative partnerships are truly inspiring. Animals that may have faced an uncertain future are given a second chance at life. Collaboration enables us at Animal Action Greece to provide a better future for vulnerable animals across Greece. Together, we ensure that every animal receives the care and love they deserve, ultimately leading to healthier communities.?
