Why Listen To Me?

I started in the transformational and coaching field before the word coaching was common. I successfuly transitioned from a career in education teaching mathematics to my own innovative company and won sales awards for my achievements. My story is available if interested.

I’ve guided individuals to understand and master sales (we call it enrollment) from both a business and a psycho-spiritual perspective. As a master astrologer with knowledge of spiritual practices, I’m in a unique position to understand how to get coaching and healing clients. Are you ready? Let’s get started!

Step 1: Moving From Survival to Source Energy

The first and most critical distinction is fully grasping the profound difference and incompatibility between survival and source energy.

Whenever you’re struggling financially with cash flow, regardless of the nature of your career or business, you’re likely operating in what we call survival energy, which is fear based. In contrast, Source Energy is the divine universal creative life force.

In case you haven’t noticed, Survival and Source Energy do not mix or blend. When attempting to do this, Survival energy will always dominate. Your day to day feelings will reveal the energy operating for you and this will determine everything in your reality.

Many of the coaches and healers I’ve spoken to over years, appear to be oblivious to this fundamental distinction and how it affects them. Do you believe that this principle doesn’t apply to you because your work is spiritual and therefore transcends this? It does not. The law of attraction does not respond well to fear or NEEDINESS because they are expressions of survival energy.

So, What's The Solution?

The first step is to revisit the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs and apply an optimum strategy for where you are right now.

We use the term Taxi Job to represent your sources of short-term cash flow and the term Career Playground to represent the arena where you’re aligned with your purpose. Your playground is also where you access your unique genius and make your optimum contribution to others. Itis the space in which you make money doing what you love.

If you’re struggling to make ends meet and seeking to build your coaching business at the same time, you’re likely sabotaging yourself because you’re unknowingly mixing survival and source energy. This is ultimate sabotage.

My recommendation is to create a Taxi Job, a separate source of immediate income using your most marketable skills and experience. The good news is that my team and I have developed a highly effective process and toolkit for this, and we are happy to share it with you.

Step 2: What If… No One is Broken and No One Needs to be Fixed?

It is our view that each human being is already whole, complete and on their own perfect, unique spiritual path. Therefore, humans are not broken and do not need to be fixed.

However, if you look at their issues, challenges, shortcomings through your biased coach lens, you might see what you want to see, i.e. someone who is flawed, broken, unaware and needs your help. Can you see how this perception is both disempowering to them and also to the relationship you could have with them?

The process of honoring someone as they are and meeting them in their world is the first and most important step for developing rapport and… the all-important trust needed for any relationship. Unfortunately, since so many coaches and healers are eager to “sell” their services, these initial steps are ignored.

In contrast, when you honor someone for who they are and know they have the resources to navigate their journey and make changes at the right time, you create a powerful space for something new to emerge.

Step 3: What If Nobody Wants Coaching or Healing?

You may see people struggling unnecessarily with pain or difficult situations and you instinctively feel you can help them improve their life and/or achieve their goals.

Question #1: Do you believe that people want to improve the quality of their life? Most do not. Assuming they want to change is a major blunder in the marketing-sales framework. It can also be a turn off and can drive people away.

Question #2: If someone does want to improve their life or make some changes, do you believe that coaching or healing is the ideal process for them? Could there be other paths that are better for them NOW? Openness is essential. Have you considered that a non-optimum path may be best for them at the beginning? Growth happens in stages.

Question #3: What is coaching? Do you assume people know what it is? Do you know what it is? Maybe not. It can mean 1000 different things or absolutely nothing. Coaching is nothing more than a label and a misleading one at best. It is often very ineffective in a marketing and relationship building context.

Question #4: Do you believe “coaching” translates into value? Unlikely. Most importantly, it does not impact people at an emotional level to want to work with you. Given the overwhelming number of coaches all peddling their services today, coaching has become a commodity. This makes it like a toaster oven. The consumer is reduced to determining where to get it for the best price.

The most devastating result of all these things is that your individuality and genius become obscured. No one knows who you are and what you actually deliver. These issues must be addressed in order for your business to succeed and for you to have the impact you want.

Step 4: What Do You Believe About Money and Business?

You hopefully know that whatever you believe defines your life experience. You may even be using this principle in client sessions yet fail to identify how your own limiting beliefs are impacting the success of your business.

To demonstrate this point, when was the last time you asked yourself “what do I believe about money, marketing and business that could be preventing me from getting new clients?

While this question is certainly useful, it will still not get you to your desired breakthrough. Your most disempowering beliefs live in your subconscious and are usually inaccessible.

To create your real ultimate breakthrough, you’ll need a way to directly access your subconscious, determine your most disempowering beliefs, then replace them with empowering ones. Since the proof is always in the pudding, you’ll need to verify this really has been done.

I admit, this may seem like a tall order to pull out of your hat on a Tuesday afternoon. The good news is that my team and I have developed a method that accomplishes this result precisely and we’ll be happy to share it with you.

Step 5: The Importance of An Empowering Support System

My observation is that most people including coaches and healers tend to be what I call “lone rangers”, which means that their default approach to life is to operate in relative isolation seeking to solve most of their problems and challenges by themselves.

Would it surprise you to know that the most successful entrepreneurs consistently participate in masterminds to receive ideas from colleagues?

In fact, you may advocate for supportive and empowering interactions for your clients. Question is, do you follow this advice yourself? Coaching and Healing are businesses and in fact unconventional ones at that.

There are numerous challenges that coaches face every day, which are resolved relatively easily with access to a supportive network. The opportunity to tap the minds and resources of others who have been where you are now, is invaluable. Do you believe and trust this is possible and attainable?

Step 6: Marketing and Lead Generation

All businesses need a way to create leads then convert a percentage to paying clients. Each of these steps is totally different.

The lead generation phase consists of putting out a message and when people respond, you begin a conversation with them. This conversation evolves into what is generally called sales. We use the term Enrollment Conversation.

Marketing or lead generation for coaches and healers can be challenging because your success depends on 3 critical factors which are often not known.

  1. Targeting the optimum audience. This means knowing who is a match for what you offer and of course knowing what you offer, not the service but the RESULT. People don’t buy a service; they buy a result. Coaching and healing are not results.
  2. Delivering an effective outreach message to your audience. There are many ways of determining an outreach message, but this requires time, attention and testing. Are you doing these things?
  3. Responding and following up with prospects in an optimum way so they “lean in” and move to next phase, the Enrollment conversation. Do you have a follow up process in place and is it working?

The bottom line here is that no one wants coaching or healing, no matter what their life situation may be. Let me say this again and please let it sink in. No one wants coaching or healing!

So, what do people actually want? They want the benefits or results of coaching or healing but the tools or methods for getting the results are irrelevant to their subconscious which is the part that is making the buying decision! Were you aware of this before now?

Once a person has “bought in” on an emotional level to what you’re offering (which means they like and trust you and feel you can help them), then they may be interested in your unique brand of coaching or healing, but not before.

Now that you’re aware of these important distinctions, do you feel able to make the needed adjustments in your business? If yes, great! On the other hand, if you like some support in making these far-reaching changes, stay tuned. I will share a way you can get this a little later.

Step 7: Mastering The Enrollment Conversation

In the realm of transformational programs, the term “enrollment conversation” is used to describe a sales process that is practiced with compassion and integrity.

When implemented skillfully, the enrollment conversation has several key steps, but most coaches and healers are unaware of them. When you become skilled in this process, you will increase your sign ups (conversion) considerably. Here’s a brief outline of the steps.

  1. Establish connection, rapport, communication flow
  2. Clarify prospect’s key concerns including personal feelings
  3. Identify prospect’s desired outcome (changes) including personal experience
  4. Determine prospect’s level of desire and commitment for getting desired result
  5. Present your unique coaching or healing opportunity, nature of the partnership; Complete agreement, receive payment

Many coaches and healers believe that simply doing a sample coaching session is sufficient to enroll the individual in working with you. While this may work some of the time, we have found it to be unreliable.

Step 8: Getting to the Space of Non-Attachment

If you’re even a moderately skilled coach, you know that emotional attachment with prospects is counterproductive and drives people away. Needy energy works contrary to the law of attraction.

However, when completing a sale is critical for paying the rent, you will often become your own worst enemy. Practicing non attachment in this situation becomes extremely difficult if not impossible.

This brings us back to the importance of the Taxi Job. There is no better solution than eliminating worry about money. Does this resonate with you? Have you put this off thinking if you just persist a little longer, you’ll get to a place where it’s no longer an issue?

Maybe you’ve avoided this because you dread the idea of seeking a JOB again. It may bring up self-judgments and the thought that you are a failure at being a coach.

What if..

  • None of these things were true?
  • You could get a freelance project using your existing marketable skills, so your Taxi becomes an adventure and powerful learning experience? This happens to people like you every day!
  • The Taxi Job ultimately empowered you to have a really successful coaching or healing practice?

The path to success in life is not always linear or logical. Sometimes we need to go off on a tangent for a bit to get to our actual goal.

Step 9: Clarifying Your Life Purpose

Many people become coaches or healers in a rather default manner, as a knee jerk reaction to some life situation but without knowing the full story.

You want to pursue a business where you can help people and make a decent income, but you don’t want to go to school and spend many years to become a therapist.

You decide to pursue coaching or a healing modality thinking that, since so many people are doing it, why not you? It seems like an easy answer, even a quick fix.

However, the missing piece of the puzzle is YOU. Since you haven’t done a deep dive into your purpose, passion or genius, you really don’t know what drives you in your soul.

The truth is that your Career Playground requires you to be totally clear on your life purpose. Are you interested in gaining this level of clarity? What would happen if you achieved this?

Step 10: The Power of Spiritual Inquiry

If you’ve reached this point, I’m going to take a leap and assume you’re resonating with this information.
