Why Coaches Fail

Most coaches aren’t worth the $8.99 they paid for the domain they hold.?

Starting a business is easy. Running a business is challenging. But being successful in business? That’s a completely different ballgame.?

Most coaches start out like most entrepreneurs - with a mild amount of self awareness, a problem they’re confident they can fix, and a few hours of an online course under their belt so they can “know what they’re doing”. After they get a few clients they likely decide to “scale”. When they say scale, what they really mean is to chase the illusion of an online business that makes them money in their sleep. A program where they take their “tried and tested” methodologies and systematize them so others can get their same results. Usually they are chasing scaling because they want more money with less work.?

What’s wrong with all this? Do I just not like folks that wanna make money? Build wealth? Work less? Exactly the opposite actually. Most of my clients have aspirations of turning their 6 figures into 7 and their 7 figures into 10. To build wealth is as natural as it is for a plant to grow towards the light. It’s what we do.?

Did you figure it out yet? What’s so upsetting about that coaching path??

It’s about them. It’s about their expertise. Their journey. Their solution. And their goals. How can you bring transformation to the clients when all you really want is to get yourself somewhere or to get someone else to where you are?

Hear me well - I am NOT saying that coaches shouldn’t have a plan, goals, or proper training. I am saying that those aren’t enough. True transformation doesn’t happen when you work exclusively from your own knowledge. You have to develop the tools and skills to build the parachutes on the way down with your clients.?

Bottom line, you go to them. Meet clients where they’re at. Lean in with curiosity and lead with empathy at each step. Be passionate about their journey. Tailor-fit their coaching experience to their unique needs and learning style. Don’t try to bottle your genius; spend your time extracting theirs.?
