Did you become a coach because you wanted freedom, money, or time before or after the market got saturated with too many "almost there" hopefuls and a lot of "how to" hucksters?
Those who follow footsteps succeed in the early days. The snow is fresh, the field ahead is green, and mountain peaks beckon in the distance. Fresh powder turns into icy moguls.
Coaching hit this moment long ago. Swap tech stocks, gold rush, and social influencer. How to succeed as a coach programs are as valuable to you as buying a slurry shaper shovel.
The winners are people like Levi Strauss who made gold mining pants, railroad and steel tycoons like Andrew Carnegie, and the social media influencers who sell how-to courses.
Money flows up and out in an economy created when people motivated by fear or desire look for answers in the society rather than find their own way forward on their terms.
Average people continue to buy "be like me and do as I did" programs on social media ad networks, pay for private groups marketed by top influencers, and expect not to get fleeced.
Instead of following the herd into the pen try this approach. It's more fun, doesn't require doing things that you don't like, and existed throughout human history in all cultures.
?? Never buy a course, program, or hire a coach when you are deep in a feeling of pain, or until you fully embrace the truth that you are the only one responsible for your condition.
?? Allow yourself to know that you do not know the answer to what's next in your life. Free yourself from the forms that society created for you to embrace like coach or consultant.
?? Adjust your fixed thinking by realizing that you don't need to seek answers, find a guru to follow, or believe what others tell you about what will and won't work for you.
?? Decide based on what feels right for you personally what experiences in the world are best suited to who you are, what you want, and why you want those things.
?? Trust in the power of life that ideas, people, and circumstances automatically appear at the perfect time. Take immediate action with urgency without hesitation when this happens.
Coaches dedicate themselves to support others. It's a calling. It's not mine. I'm an entrepreneur. My work includes guiding others like me but never going deep as a coach.
Steve Hardison coaches Steve Chandler and Rich Litvin who created The Prosperous Coach. It's not a how-to method. The world does not need them. It's a huge waste of time.
The principles in these books work. They are less about the specifics as times change, but more about what matters. I learned a lot but copied nothing from any of these sage leaders.
