Why CNG decided to add HR Services?

Why People who recruit must be from the same Sector especially Oil& Gas/Marine?

I wont say much but my group decided to start a HR firm in marine /Oil& Gas because we believe that people who recruit must be people who have lived in those environment and must have not the paper book knowledge when knowing how to provide a company with the right candidate. I met a second engg with all the details but I have sailed with this guy before and he is my friend. All he keeps saying is get me a good land job and i leave this and join in there. I have my friends and batch mates more than 100 of them out of which many many complain or have already left. They just want to be Chief Asap so that they can be Tech Sups on Land and thats it. My question is how does the HR choose candidates when they do not know how their EQ on Sea will be and that primarily means Life & Death in the Marine/Oil& Gas sectors especially for Offshore Jobs & Onshore . I go to exhibitions and sometimes a person is selling me a Life Jacket and really telling me the paper book knowledge. Ask him how long in the water will this work and life jacket then lose it Buoyancy in the Artics Ocean he will say 4 hours not realizing that i will be dead of Hypothermia in 5 mins. Ask him if he has sailed then they come with the blank yes and avoid the topic because they know I will dig more into it so I smile to myself and I hear more text book stories and I leave.

I am yet to understand the way of working ! When somebody is recruiting for a SOLAS company they look for experience in that sector on paper. Are you asking the right questions that define Safety at Sea or Not or just looking into paperwork.So the Dumbness is carried on and Nobody will question it as Dumbness now has experience.

My group hope to bring a change in this and hopefully we will. We will ask the right questions and choose the right candidate because he might have 5 years of experience but might have survived a real storm and might know more about safety than you or me. He is not selling but just telling to grow business & that is a Director to me !
