#1: Clocking in/out with Clockify timer

The most common way of recording work time is by using a Clockify timer. Being very user-friendly and straightforward, it allows you to click on the start button when you begin work.?

Simply choose a project you’re working on and click Start. As simple as that. The same applies when you’re done with work — click on the Stop button, and Clockify saves everything automatically.

You can also press the play button within a previously saved time entry to continue working from where you left off (see screenshot below). ??

Finally, mark your time entry as billable or non-billable by simply clicking on the dollar sign.

#2: Clocking in/out with Clockify timesheets

Next is a time recording option that’s more suitable for those who don’t like the idea of starting/stopping the timer each time they work on something. That’s why Clockify timesheets allow you to manually enter work hours at the end of the day (or week).

If you enter 1, it immediately becomes 1 minute. However, if you switch to decimal format, 1 becomes 1 hour.

What’s more, Clockify allows your employees to edit or delete their time entries — but by respecting the timesheet lock date. If you, for instance, lock timesheets before January 15, your regular users won’t be able to edit or add new time entries on January 15 or earlier. This, of course, doesn’t affect you as an admin — you can edit and add time entries even in the locked period.?

#3: Clocking in/out with Clockify kiosk

Next, here’s a clock in/out method that’s especially suitable for on-site workers — the time clock kiosk in Clockify. Kiosk in Clockify lets your employees clock in with a PIN code from a shared device.?

Your employees just need to enter their personal PIN and start their shift. That’s all. You can also use the Universal PIN that allows supervisors to clock in and out for others. Bear in mind that only people who know Universal PIN can clock in for others.

With Clockify, you can turn any internet-connected device into a time clock kiosk, making it a great clock in/out system for restaurants, retail, field workers, etc. In fact, Clockify kiosk works on iOS and Android.?

As your employees track their work hours, you get a clear insight into their activities thanks to extensive reporting features in Clockify.

For instance, a summary time report in Clockify lets you break down the tracked data from your team and filter it by:?

  • Project,?
  • Department,?
  • User,?
  • Group, etc.?

Finally, download your reports in PDF, CSV, or Excel format and ensure that all clock in/out time entries are recorded.?

Interestingly, Clockify reports can simplify calculating wages, billable time, and overtime to stay compliant with state labor laws and regulations.
