Why a Clinton Presidency is Frightening

Why a Clinton Presidency is Frightening

I honestly think that the prospect of a Hillary Clinton USA Presidency is frightening, and it is a prospect that should be frightening for the entire world. Our global system relies on having a strong America, and there is no better example of this than in 2008, when the world plunged into economic recession on the back of the US Mortgage Debt Crisis. The whole economic system of the planet hinges on the back of having a stable America. And having four more years of Obama/Clinton economic policy will ultimately turn the tide in favor of China. Indeed the Chinese economy has been seeing single-digit growth for the last couple of years, after having double-digit growth for the past 30. It's double-digit GDP growth was causing many analysts to forecast that it would bury the USA by 2025, or sooner.

But with China now faltering, it is prime time for the US to step on the gas and bury them. And with the amount of power they have over them in the trade arena, they have the power to do this. But Obama has failed miserably on this count. Concerning America's relationship with the Middle East, Obama has also failed miserably. By the late 2000's it was beginning to look like America would become energy independent in the not-too-distant future. Unfortunately, Obama felt content to impede the growth of the fossil fuel industry (which was providing millions of good-paying jobs by the way) with needless regulation. And now, in the low price commodity environment, those regulations have effectively killed off America's chance for energy independence. Hillary Clinton will continue on this path of needless regulation, and she will (figuratively) suck jobs out of places like North Dakota and West Virginia.

Hillary is campaigning on woman's rights, but her record in this area is appalling. She is campaigning on making America the 'clean energy leader of the world'. But how is the country going to pay for this? They certainly aren't going to pay for it by taxing Oil and Gas Companies, because Hillary has vowed to put them out of business. And also, Hillary has promised to put billions to work re-training the unemployed coal miners in West Virginia. And because the US will not be making its own energy, they are going to have to continue paying many billions to OPEC nations for their oil. But how is America going to pay for all of this?

The only way America will be able to pay for its increase in export receipts, social security benefits and job re-training is by printing more money, and by adding onto the $19 trillion of debt they already have. The simple fact is that Hillary is going to put the nail in the coffin for the US economy. She is going to suck jobs out of the economy, and export those same jobs to places like China and Saudi Arabia. And believe me when I say, we do not want those countries supplanting the USA and running the world. The way the Saudi's treat their women, and minority citizens is an abomination. And if you think that inequality in the Western world is bad, it is nothing compared to China and India. In fact, since China opened up their economy in 1978, the levels of inequality between the rich and poor have risen dramatically. There is a massive rural/urban divide. Regional disparities are significantly higher in China than the US.

Hillary talks about how she will spread the wealth. But the longer-term consequence of what she will do is that she will bury the US in an increasing mountain of debt, that they will never be able to pay back. She will cause the loss of millions of jobs, and trillions of dollars in economic value will be lost to the world.

The future for the US is to achieve energy independence. As Donald Trump is proposing to do, they need to take their jobs back from places like China. All of the Western World countries need to do this. In New Zealand the same thing is true. US Energy Independence needs to be achieved, and alongside that, Clean Energy Technology should also be developed in time. By proposing to subsidize the development of clean energy technologies, Hillary is going to breed laziness. Financial pressure will force those companies in Solar and Wind, to become more efficient and to development better technologies.

The future for the world depends on the expansion of new Technologies, not Globalization. Globalization will ultimately lead to the spread of poverty, disease, and inequality. Perhaps Donald Trump does not recognize this, but the policies that he is proposing to put in place, will ultimately lead to less Globalization and more Technology development. That is something that is good for America, and it is good for the World.

I mostly agree - but whoever is president - can they actually change the trajectory. Congress needs to agree.
