Cleveland Clinic CEO and President Tom Mihaljevic, M.D. explains why Cleveland Clinic is increasing its minimum wage to $15 an hour, in The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer:
“Every caregiver’s role is important. Increasing our minimum wage demonstrates our commitment to our employees and their families, as well as the community and our patients. It is a reflection of who we want to be as an organization,” he wrote.
“Cleveland Clinic caregivers are a critical part of our region’s social fabric. When they are healthy and financially well, they are able to give back and uplift their neighborhoods … We are from Cleveland. We believe in Cleveland. We care for Cleveland. And we invest in Cleveland, which includes investing in our caregivers.”

5 年Dr. Mihaljevic, I have attempted to contact your through your office however it appears you are not receiving my message. I have 2 concerns and believe I also have a solution to the minimize the complaints Cleveland Clinic receives. Although its wonderful that there is a raise to $15 an hour, with observing over the last year a particular location of the clinic, perhaps an increase in staff would be effective too for quality of service. Would love to have a discussion about it. Molim Vas da me bar pozovite.... Hvala!?

5 年This is wonderful news for clinic employees!? Also for the infrastructure around them to which the additional flow of dollars will be significant. I think any organization with the financial capacity to pay employees above market rates will get the employees they deserve. This may not be applicable to smaller businesses that might close if this became a mandatory increase in overhead.
