Why Christmas is different for everyone
The year 2022 is slowly but surely coming to an end and Christmas is just around the corner. While everyone works on themselves and achieves their own goals throughout the year, the holiday season gives us the opportunity to end another eventful year with those closest to us. However, even though everyone sees the year end as a time to spend with the people we care about, there are strong differences in how everyone enjoys this time the most. For example, personality matters, as revealed in a study by the Myers-Briggs Company, which shows that our personality type has a big impact on how we spend our Christmas time and what brings us the most joy. Below are some examples of personal differences in this matter.
While 60% of people agree that Christmas is about family, friends, children, and being together, the first difference can be seen in how large the circle of celebration should be: People who are more introverted by nature tend to be happier to spend Christmas in a small circle or with just one other person. On the other hand, people with a natural tendency towards extraversion tend to enjoy spending Christmas in a large circle, i.e., with the whole extended family and everyone close to the family. Some of us, therefore, may be?invigorated?by large parties, while for others it may simply seem exhausting. Interestingly, both introverts and extroverts seemingly feel more joy the more parties they attend.
One of the biggest issues at Christmas is probably getting presents and planning whom to give what. Here, too, some differences emerge: People with a preference for rational decisions (Thinking) will prefer to buy gifts online, and if possible, already wrapped. What may come as a surprise is to see that people who tend to make decisions based on feelings and personal values prefer online shopping just as much, as it offers many choices to find the very perfect gift. However, they will be keen on taking care of the wrapping themselves.?

Likewise, we differ in preferred activities at Christmas. Most commonly, people will enjoy nice food, having drinks, going to church, watching TV, and playing games.??Extraverts show that they are happier doing exciting things that actively involve other people, such as playing cards or other games, whereas introverts will prefer calmer activities such as going to church, watching TV, or just having a drink with a dear one.??
Undoubtedly, traditions for the Christmas holiday vary behind each door, not only due to family habits and cultural differences but also because of personality preferences. Yet most people associate the Christmas time with happy moments, independently of the way they like to spend this time.
