Why CEOs Should Prioritize Events in 2025: Personal 2024 Recap

If you ask me what the most significant shift in my CEO activity in 2024 was, I’d say: events! Nothing beats personal attendance, networking, and pitching.

The key takeaway from this year?

The value lies in the quality of speakers, panel discussions, and participants, not just the event itself or the number of events.

Why CEOs Should Prioritize Events:

1?? Market Trends & Insights

SaaStr 2024

Events like SaaStr provided an unparalleled opportunity to understand the latest market dynamics in SaaS. From enhancing GTM strategies with Andrea Wang to exploring AI applications with Duncan Lennox, the sessions were packed with actionable insights.

For CEOs, staying ahead of these trends is critical to making informed business decisions. The message was clear: slow growth is no excuse, as cloud spending is up, and opportunities abound even outside tech sectors.

2?? Cross-Industry Innovation

MOVE: Mobility Re-Imagined

The discussions at?MOVE: Mobility Re-Imagined weren’t limited to EVs and smart cities. Topics like digital wallets and luxury EVs opened a broader perspective on the convergence of sustainability, connectivity, and technology.

CEOs who think beyond their industry can uncover game-changing ideas that redefine business strategies and customer experiences.

3?? Scaling Strategies

Expert Dojo Growth Hacking 2024

The Expert Dojo Growth Hacking event focused on hyper-practical strategies for scaling businesses. From pricing adjustments to expanding product lines and building repeatable sales systems, the discussions offered a masterclass in sustainable growth.

CEOs can gain immediate takeaways to improve operational efficiency and maximize ROI, helping them stay competitive in fast-changing markets.

4?? Networking with a Purpose

LA Teach Week 2024

LA Tech Week was a prime example of networking done right. From engaging pitch contests to innovation showcases, the event provided structured opportunities to connect with like-minded leaders. Building relationships with peers, investors, and collaborators accelerates growth and creates a support network to tackle business challenges.

Ok, I could write a looong article about the stunning days of?LA Tech Week,?and maybe I will when I have time; the point is this event is perfect for meaningful networking. Be it AI on healthtech, LA tech community panels, Business Plan & Pitch Contest, all events offer perfect timing and room for engagements with the right people.

5?? Inspiration and Vision

Recurring Revenue Conference 2024

The Recurring Revenue Conference was a powerful reminder of why CEOs should prioritize events: they ignite bold ideas and long-term vision.

For instance, hearing Brett Queener’s insights on AI sparked fresh perspectives on how artificial intelligence can transform SaaS. Tony Smith’s session on Unicorn CEO Leadership strategies offered actionable advice for scaling sustainably, while Daniel Cunningham’s expertise on SaaS growth provided clear frameworks for driving predictable revenue.

For me, events like these are invaluable—they’re not just about learning; they’re about shifting your mindset, sparking innovation, and finding the courage to pursue bold, transformative strategies.

How to Maximize ROI from Events:

Here are a few preparation tips for making the most of every event:

1?? Set Clear Goals – Know whether you’re attending to gain insights, network, or generate leads. This clarity will guide your interactions and focus.

2?? Do Your Homework – Research speakers, panels, and attendees beforehand. Identify key people you want to meet or sessions that align with your objectives.

3?? Prepare Your Pitch – Be ready to share your business’s story succinctly. Focus on challenges, solutions, and measurable impact.

4?? Follow Up Promptly – The real value of networking happens after the event. Send personalized follow-ups to solidify relationships and explore collaboration opportunities.

Final Thoughts

For CEOs, attending events in 2025 isn’t just about showing up—it’s about immersing yourself in the ecosystem of ideas, trends, and connections that drive growth.

Each event in 2024 reaffirmed one truth: being present opens doors that virtual attendance cannot. Attending the right events can transform your business. The trick is showing up prepared and with a purpose.

And one last thing, 80% of deals we closed in 2024 are leads from events.

Full stop.

Love the insights and sharing of your own learnings. My own realization is that this changes even with life stage. I used to have FOMO and want to meet everyone in the room as an extrovert, then learned and observed it was the quietest and most reserved people that I really needed to meet (wink)!
