Why can’t you see any result from the skin lifting?

Recently we have one 55 years old patient. After one time skin lifting treatment, she thinks she did not seen any results on her face yet. Neck a little. So she asked why?

This is generally a problem of inadequate or misinformation conveyed in various ways (advertising, over eager consults, websites like realself, friends even), where the information given is often incomplete to say the least, or economically biased……. or blog posts and comments that appear to be from users but are really generated by company paid bloggers, etc.

Because at age 55 you really wouldn’t expect to see much in the way of tightening ……..mostly just maintenance of current face shape. That in itself though is a good thing! If you really want tightening, you made need to use multiple technologies (nonsurgical) to get a good result.

The reason is that radiofrequency/sound wave based technologies work by tightening existing collagen a little and also by stimulating the existing cells to make new collagen. When we are younger – think 30s and 40s, we have more collagen and cells. As we age, this type of technology works usually less well. Generally the “thicker” your skin (more dermis) the better it should work.
