Why can't I just upgrade?

With windows 7 end of life coming people might be wondering can I just upgrade my computer to Windows 10? The answer is absolutely yes you can, however if you should is an entirely different question.

I don't recommend upgrading a pc to windows 10 for the following reasons.

• If you have windows 7 your system is likely already 4-5 years old.
• When you invest in licensing and the tech time to upgrade you are close to the same price for purchasing new.
• Current generation hardware is much faster then even 2-3 years ago
• Under warranty. You might wonder why it's important to have equipment under warranty. (I will dig further into this in the future)

Technology change is rapid and by holding onto the old hardware we are decreasing user satisfaction and productivity. When you look at the cost of a new current generation pc it pales in cost with lost productivity.
