Why Candidates cannot score High in IELTS Writing Tasks?

Despite the training (online or offline), the candidates find it difficult to score a band 7 in the IELTS Writing Module. The teachers and the institutions claim to give excellent results to attract the candidates, but, the results show either a 6.5 or less.

What is the reason for the Low Score in IELTS Writing?

Well, there are several reasons behind the low scores in the IELTS Writing Task 1 and 2. I have personally trained more than 20+ candidates for the IELTS Exam in the past few months and all of them struggled for either all or majority of the following reasons.

  • Inability to Understand the question properly
  • Use correct Vocabulary
  • Sentence formation
  • Grammar and Tenses
  • Use of Cohesive Devices & Connectives
  • Maintain coherence between the sentences
  • Inclusion of Examples in the explanation
  • Missing Callbacks

The requirements laid down by IELTS are absolutely clear and straightforward, however, the teachers are still unable to deliver the results as desired.

Before I move on to the ways to overcome these and score high the IELTS Writing Task 1 and 2, I would like to gather some thoughts from the people themselves.

Whose Fault is it? Teacher, Student or Institute?
