Why Business Owners Struggle with Social Media Posting

Posting on social media is one of the most important tasks in just about every business. But at the same time, it's often one of the most dreaded and neglected tasks.
WHY?
Lots of reasons. For one thing, it's never DONE. It's always floating around out there on your to-do list, even when you're busy helping your clients, or designing new courses, quizzes, webinars, etc. Basically work that isn't RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS.
Another reason might be that you hate it. Many people don't like tooting their own horn. It's uncomfortable for them. Or they just don't know what to say.
Some people just don't like the tech side of it. You little Gen-Xers and Millennials are probably happy coming up with snappy little reels or eye-catching Canva graphics, but lots of us Boomer folks would rather poke pins in our eyes (well, not me, but lots of 'em!)
The Reality for Many Business Owners
This isn't true for all business owners, but it's certainly what I'm seeing for a lot of the folks I'm connected with.
1. They're NOT posting.
2. They're posting so infrequently, it doesn't make an impression
3. They're only focusing on ONE platform, so only one audience is seeing their stuff.
4. They're doing it BADLY. No hook, no call to action, no graphics
Think about your social media strategy. Are you doing ANY of these? Maybe you're even doing ALL of these.
The reason these things won't work is that social media platforms prioritize consistency. You'll get more visibility when you're a regular participant on these platforms. Doesn't have to be every day (and shouldn't be on some platforms), but the algorithms will work better and you'll reach many more people and have the chance to grow your business.
Now let's talk about the one platform situation. You have a slightly different audience on each platform, right? Because if you only ever post on Instagram, you're not reaching the folks on Facebook, and if you only post on Facebook, you're skipping the folks on LinkedIn.
But I get it, there are only so many hours in a day.
Here's a pretty bizarre fact about me. I have ten different social media profiles - TEN. And I post to each of them every day or two - year in, year out.
I know that sounds a little weird, but I run multiple businesses and each has it's own Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest accounts.

Using a Scheduler
Obviously, I couldn't manage all that without a scheduler, and I have a kick-ass one. But you've probably never heard about it because they do a crappy job on their advertising. I'm actually talking to their marketing team to help them find some better options.
It's called SmarterQueue and it really IS smarter. I've used several different scheduling tools for clients and I can say that SmarterQueue has some features that other schedulers don't seem to have.
SmarterQueue allows me to post to multiple social media accounts in one simple operation. I can schedule them on the same day or shift them around on the schedule however I wish.
Like I said, different audiences on each platform, so why reinvent the wheel? And you can always add in reels, stories, and adjust each post as needed for different platforms - add hashtags and different call to action verbiage as needed.
My other favorite feature in SmarterQueue is an auto-recycle feature. I can set up posts to repeat every couple of months. That is a wonderful thing when I am super busy with other projects. I can just do my thing knowing that my posts are going to be posted exactly as scheduled regardless if I have time that week or not.
And as for repeating content, as long as you do it sensibly and don't repeat too often, it's a smart strategy. Your entire audience never sees a post at the same time, and you're always getting new followers and connections who haven't seen your content before. And people are so busy - who has time to remember you posted something a few months ago.
About SmarterQueue
If you want to try SmarterQueue on your own, here's my affiliate link for it - https://smarterqueue.com/?afmc=1j1. It will give you a month-long trial rather than the two-week trial everyone else gets. Also, if you use my affiliate link, I'll give you a session to show you how to get it set up as a thank you. I've used SmarterQueue for about 8 years and I'm working on becoming a trainer for them.
How I Can Help
So, here's how you can invite me to join the party! In addition to managing my whole social media empire, I've got years of experience with managing other people's social media as well. I was a Pinterest manager for about 10 years for dozens of clients, and I'd be delighted to help you with your social media scheduling.
I'll work with you to come up with post ideas every week to show off your brand, plus some spiffy graphics, 'cuz that's sorta my thing and there's a ton of different things to post.
Here's a bunch of ideas I have for posting. So many options to showcase your business:
Just think of how much time you'll free up to focus on other areas of your business AND you'll have a consistent presence on your favorite social media platforms with very little effort on your part. I typically post 3 times per week, but we can figure out a schedule that suits your needs. Let's chat about it and see how this could help you - Calendly.com/yourfairytechmother/15min.
