Today, the Autumn Statement was released. Among the 'good news' was some positive wording on childcare. Chancellor Philip Hammond announced that there would be special exemptions on tax salary sacrifice for childcare, along with other priority spending items such as ultra-low emissions cars, pensions and cycling.
As welcome as any tax savings are for parents, the effect of so-called tax free childcare is likely to be overshadowed by the effect of Brexit on childcare. In my latest Huffington Post article, I explain why.
