Why are Brands shifting towards "Monochromatic" logos ?

With the changing times, people are getting more stylish, their purchasing power has increased and a good amount of their earnings is spent on their lifestyle. From simplistic black, blue and white, people are moving towards neon shades - colours that are bright & catchy.

Ironically, for the past couple of years brands are shifting to 2D Monochromatic designs/logos replacing their 3D logos.

This trend is seen not only amongst the Automobile sector but more or less across all. With companies leveraging Digital Media for branding and presenting thoughtful creatives of their products which are extremely colourful and bright to people using 3D emojis to new age Mobile Apps which are coming with Material Designing - 3D UI to make the app look more appealing to the audience, then why such a U-turn particularly with their logos?

Why are more n more Brands shifting towards it?

A Logo is the identity of the company. A Flat logo appears to be more simple, sleek and classy even if it is seen at a glance. Also, it shows the brand is entering into a new era and the company is fresh and updated which reflects the ideology of the company towards its customers.

With people becoming more Environment conscious, a flat logo saves storage space, easier to scale and more cost-effective for printing purposes.

Personally speaking, I don't really appreciate the newer version of these logos - the flat 2D ones are a bit boring to me, rather I like the 3D ones more, they look bold and in sync with the evolving trend.

Lemme know which version do you like more, traditional 3D or the latest 2D ones and why ?

I think theres a strong relation of such new logo styles with the new age art movement of post modernism which involves a lot of "minimalism". Its the in- thing these days.
