Why Bother Watching The Fed?
The Federal Reserve left the fed funds target range steady at 5.25%-5.50% for a seventh consecutive meeting
Policymakers apparently do not expect it will be appropriate to reduce the target range until it has gained greater confidence that inflation is moving sustainably toward their 2% annualised target.
Yet again, it is worth reminding that the Fed have never made a PRO-Active decision, they RE-Act (follow with a lag) the "market rate," as seen by the 2-year Treasury yield, a rate set by you, me and anyone else who wants to loan or borrow over a two year timeframe.
The good news is that they may cut next time, dependent on market rates!
