Battery-swapping specialist Gogoro announced details about the Pulse, their upcoming electric moped. The first such vehicle to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset, it’s packed with smart features like an active-matrix lighting system that adapts to speed, turns, and even weather conditions.
Pure EV’s AI-driven software platform, called X, will now be used on its entire line of electric two-wheelers. X software provides advanced driving features and increased range, and received positive responses from riders during a trial run on two of the company’s ultra-long models.
Kinetic Green is making an electric version of the Luna, their iconic ICE moped. The E-Luna will enter the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 74,990, powered by a 2kWh battery with a range of 110 km (68 miles).
Surge, the electric division of Hero MotoCorp, introduced an innovative “class-shifting” vehicle that can transform between a two-wheeled moped and a three-wheeled rickshaw. Called the S32, it’s designed to give owners the flexibility of two vehicles at the cost of one.

Stromer’s premium ST5 Pinion debuted in Europe last year, and now it’s available in the US market, provided you’ve got $12k to spare. It features automatic gear changes from the electronic Smart Shift system, a Gates Carbon belt drive, and is powered by a 750 watt rear hub motor.
ICE motorcycle titan Suzuki has been slow to electrify with only one model so far, but now they’re committing to launching eight electric models by 2030. Details are sparse but we can expect a mix of mopeds and full-sized motorcycles. Suzuki still plans for 75% of its portfolio to be ICE models and is looking into carbon-neutral fuel sources.
Chinese manufacturer AIMA is bringing a new city-style electric bike called the Santa Monica to the US market. It starts at $1,599 and is powered by a small-profile 750 watt hub motor, part of a custom drive system developed in partnership with Bafang. AIMA is relatively new in the US but has a strong presence in Asia; learn more in our brand profile video.
Ola Electric’s newest moped model is designed specifically for the commercial market. Not many details are known yet, but it’s expected to have a minimalist “function over form” design and will target last-mile delivery and B2B sectors in India.
Godawari Electric will debut the Eblu Feo X electric moped at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in February. An upgrade to the company’s popular Eblu Feo model, the X series features added convenience with 28 liters of under-seat storage.
Brompton is known for their ultra-lightweight folding bikes, so it comes as no surprise that their latest electric modelweighs only 34 lbs (15.6 kg). The P-Line Explore has 4- and 12-speed drivetrain options, with a range of up to 45 miles (72 km).

1 年Wow - one of my projects as a Transportation Design major at Art Center during a (ahem) previous century was a vehicle for the future that was a car in front powered by two motorcycles in the back. I had an entire story about congestion, vehicle access to city centers etc. but couldn't resolve the design fully. It'll be interesting to see if this succeeds, or do they also fail to resolve the challenges.
