Why is Bizongo one of the 25 hottest Indian startups to work for?
Bizongo features in LinkedIn Top Startups 2019: The 25 hottest Indian companies to work for!
The mood in the office is upbeat!
I'd like to give you some context on the relevance of this recognition. LinkedIn's editors and data scientists went through billions of actions generated by its 645 million members to identify the top companies to work at based on these 4 attributes:
1. Employee growth
2. Jobseeker interest
3. Engagement with the company
4. Talent Acquisition from Top companies
Having spent 16.5 months here, I'd like to take you through my story so far and relate to how Bizongo has lived up to each of the above 4 attributes in a big way.
#EmployeeGrowth to me is a sense of contentment one gets by impacting metrics, people or values. I was given autonomy to shape a team and function on my own, without having been in a similar position in the past. As exciting as the opportunity was, it was also intimidating. The support I have received from my team and the leadership team to drive things my way has helped me grow professionally and personally.
I have been approached by over 20 of my own direct connections and at least 10 other 2nd/3rd degree connections who also see the potential in the packaging Industry, India's growth story and the magic happening within Bizongo. Them wanting to be a part of this story shows very high levels of #JobseekerInterest
At Bizongo, every employee is a CULTivator. CULT is an acronym for Collaboration-Upscaling-Leadership-Transparency. The company goes to any extent possible to identify people from the outside who show these qualities and constantly rewards people from within who display these qualities. Through workshops, conferences, exhibitions, learning & development sessions, sports tournaments, hackathons, pizza parties and allowing us to pick the next coffee dispensing machine, we certainly do feel engaged! Having worked in companies bigger and smaller, I can say without any reservations that we are setting new bars for what employee #EngagementWithTheCompany should look like!
I have colleagues from Microsoft, P&G, Zomato, JP Morgan, ITC, J&J. I am learning technical things like what goes into a data warehouse, functional things like how should inventory levels be ascertained, business things like what margins we must charge, managerial things like when to listen and/or talk and sensible things like when to admit I went wrong. Our pipeline for #TalentAcquisitionFromTopCompanies remains strong and am keen to learn more from the people we have and the people who will continue to come in. We were 140+ people when I joined in April 2018 and we are 550+ now. While a 3.9x increase in headcount is impressive, the impact with each incremental addition has certainly been exponential.
Very well articulated, could get the essence of what makes Bizongo such a great place. Heres wishing you and the awesome team there more success towards cultivating employee growth, which will surely result in growth for Bizongo as well!
