Everyone heard and reads about big data in general. Let's try to understand better what's behind.

Artificial Intelligence stands on Big Data, ok.

What could we do with big data without queries and analysis? Nothing. They just occupy storage space.

How can be useful then?

Big Data normally are analysed and employed to study business historical peaks and break evens, but also, more important, to foresee the future. 

And...What about internet big data then? 

When you hear about Digital Marketing, you think immediately that it is referred to a complex work of interpretation of current online visits, conversions, sales vs stock levels analysis, KPIs, costs analysis, purchase suggestions... which are relative to the company. In the reality, digital marketing is it much more.

Market researches help us to understand where the market goes in terms of demographics, financial markets, development indicators, weather data, quotas, revenues, products, solutions, payments, currencies, companies and unicorns. Digital Marketeers consider them everyday.

And what about understanding what's happening outside of a company, in the market in a precise moment? 

Internet data can be very useful if analysed from the right perspective. The most easy example to quote, could be relative to the cost of a keyword, but what can be useful as well for marketers is also understanding the searches trends.

Searches trends cannot only be useful to understand what's fashionable right now, what are the buzz on the social networks or to identify business niches and opportunities.

They can be very helpful to see also where online sales in a market are going in terms of products, companies, interests. What is cool, what is losing appeal.

That means they are a powerful source of insights for product development, trade marketing actions, campaign development, supply chain and financial planning, strategic decisions which could change drastically the course of things.
