???? Why "Better Done Than Perfect" is Technically Bullsh*t

Today I am Sharing My Thoughts on How Making Great Video is Like Making a Great Cocktail ??
I have this conversation at least 2 times a week...
"Hey Dan, I have been told by online gurus and YouTube preachers that I just need to make videos and put them out. Better done than perfect right?
They say things like just make 100 bad videos like "Insert Famous YouTuber" did and you will grow a huge channel. You too can have tons of subscribers if you just "Ship It".
This Advice is Bullsh*t -?????
Now I have to postface this by saying that I think the opposite end of the scale is bullsh*t as well. Polishing your video content to perfection is a terrible idea, mostly because it leads to never publishing the content anyway and minimally because it is a waste of time.
So the question posed to me weekly is:
Is better done than perfect or should I hone and polish my videos before I publish?
And to that, I say a resounding....?Yes! That answer is rarely well received.
How can it be both Dan? And to that, I say because making great video is like making a great cocktail.
Take the classic "Screwdriver" for instance.
If you have never had a screwdriver, it is part orange juice and part vodka. How much of each part is totally up to the preference of the consumer. So you could imagine pouring a 50/50?ratio your first time and trying it out. For some that might be too much vodka and for others maybe that is too much juice.
No matter which camp you are in, I can bet my money on one thing happening for sure. The next time you make a screwdriver it is going to be "Better" than the last time. This means you can hone your craft, build your video content muscles, and never settle for making bad videos just because someone told you to.
Everything we do as entrepreneurs is on a scale or spectrum of some sort and it is SUPER rare that staking down at one of the extremes is a good idea. Everyone has a different starting skill set and a different approach to being creative. Find your perfect cocktail and crank out that delicious video content.
So Go Forth and Craft Your Cocktails!

[CONTENT ZONE]
Here is a video I made a while back that I reshot a couple of times because I wasn't happy with the first draft. I also got to a point where I knew it was a waste of time to try and polish it anymore.
I am making an updated version soon on my?Brand New YouTube Channel.
[ROSE - BUD - THORN]
Rose ??-?Giving yourself permission to find your own place on the scale of better done than perfect and polish to perfection, is a powerful relief that will allow you to find YOUR voice and YOUR style.
Bud ??-?Once you free yourself of what the Gurus say, you can begin to let creativity and dare I say... Fun - enter into your content creation. Fun fact, being creative and having fun translates into better and more impactful videos. Win/Win!
Thorn ?? -?Finding your place on any spectrum in business or content creation is?work. As entrepreneurs, we already have a ton of work to do. But if there is one thing I can promise you in video content creation... practice makes progress so your effort will always make you better!
