The Why behind Magana
A while back, I read a book by Simon Sinek called "Start with Why." I bought and read the book after watching his viral "The Golden Circle" YouTube video (check it out here!). It truly inspired me, and I made a promise to myself that if I ever had the opportunity to start a brand, I would approach it with the same mindset. Little did I know, putting that approach into action would be quite challenging. So, dear reader, I kindly ask you to indulge me as I explain the "Why" of Magana:
As human beings, our relationship with time evolves throughout our lives. In our youth, time feels abundant, and we often spend it without much thought. But as we grow older and reach significant milestones like graduating, getting a job, starting a business, or building a family, we start to realize that time flies by. The days, weeks, and months seem to pass much more quickly than before. The simple truth is that the busier we become, the faster time seems to slip away. I believe this to be a universal truth. So, what is the purpose of Magana as a watch brand?
Let's consider that the average adult spends around 7-8 hours asleep every day. That leaves us with approximately 1,000 minutes of conscious time each day. These moments can be seen as a valuable currency that we spend, regardless of what we do. However, each one of us has the power to control (at least a little) how we invest this precious resource - with whom we spend it and what we choose to do. This is my objective: I aspire for those who wear a Magana timepiece to be reminded, with every glance at their watch, to ask themselves a simple question: "Did I take the time today to... (fill in the blank)?"

The act of pausing for a moment and reflecting on this seemingly simple question can, in my core belief, enhance your life and positively impact the lives of those around you. So, for example, today I asked myself, "Did I take the time to meditate lately?" Since it had been a while, I set aside 20 minutes and engaged in a rejuvenating session. Yesterday, my question was, "Did I take the time to check in on my mom?" Realizing it had been over three weeks since we last spoke, I picked up the phone and had a delightful 10-minute conversation with her. It brought smiles to both our faces.
I would love to see you, dear reader, engage with this idea by sharing how you would fill in the blank in the question. Let's inspire each other!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
