Why average people lead

We may never hear the best song. We may never listen the best sermon. We may never know the best performing artist. We may never see the most beautiful model. We may never get the best leader.
Many super talented and gifted people never take initiatives. They complain about corrupt leaders but they can’t soil their hands in politics. They complain how their employer is slow but they never launch their own business. They complain the pastor is boring but they’ll never launch a church. They critique other people’s works but they never show case their works for public scrutiny.
Besides inaction, many super talented and gifted people quit. They’re very impatient individuals. They look for quick wins everywhere. Their super-inflated egos cannot allow them to stay the course. On the contrary, many average people start without too much expectations, and years later, they surprise themselves with monumental growth that they never anticipated.
Even majority of the most revered professors were average students in school. Many super talented and gifted people are destroyed by impatience, pride and arrogance. Many super gifted people tend to be unreasonably aggressive and lone rangers. Two attributes that make people avoid them like plague. And guess what? Without peoples’ support, your gifts will take you nowhere.
No wonder Jesus said, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” Humble average people eventually lead. Every time you feel like attacking others, think twice. Every poisonous arrow you project towards others echoes back to you. Learn to celebrate others and you’ll be celebrated. Learn to stay the course and you’ll win. Learn to work with others and your game will last.
