Why Attend The WLT Masquerade Gala?
Women Leading Technology is a fairly new organization going on 3 years in July. We have big dreams, goals, and ambitions. Our organization started off as a simple LinkedIn group for like-minded women in the same industry. We wanted to address the lack of female representation in technology. We understand the importance of women needing to feel supported. We are aware that many strides have been made regarding more representation but there is still a lot of work to be done. WLT wants to do more than just be in technology, we want to lead the charge for change.
One of our biggest missions is to bridge diversity, equity, and inclusion gaps worldwide. We want to address the disparities through STEAAM education. What does STEAAM stand for? Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, Architecture, and Math. Our goal is to build WLT STEAAM Experience Centers for Girls worldwide. We will introduce girls to STEAAM disciplines as early as Pre-K. WLT acknowledges the importance of capturing girls at an early age and creating a circle of service around their success. With the centers, the girls will have hands-on experiences with each STEAAM disciplines in addition to learning coding and gaming. Not only will the girls have the hands-on aspect, but they will also learn the principles behind each discipline. The beautiful thing about the WLT STEAAM Experience Centers is the knowledge the girls will receive is current and informative because classes are taught by industry leaders.
