For the last three years, working Americans have expressed concern and outrage about the economy. Yet our government keeps telling us everything is fine, which further angers us because ‘they’ are so out of touch. Americansare paying an additional 11,000 to 17,000 dollars a year on the same items they purchased just four years ago. The prices have soared a staggering amount, eggs are up 70% and overall grocery prices are up 20% since 2021
The interest rates were historically low before 2020. Currently the interest rate is over five percent. The federal reserve may need to increase the rate further to stabilize the economy.
The rise in inflation revolved around the passage of two bills. The American Rescue plan, which I dubbed, the inflation increase plan, and the 1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill were the spark that caused the inflation rate to increase to a 40 year high. Our elected officials failed us. The democrat party seems to lack free thinkers. If their party says, vote for X, Y or Z they do it blindly, instead of doing their homework and assessing the consequence's of these bills. The rise in inflation and what consumers are paying for goods has outpaced any wage increases for the American family. The reckless spending of the elected officials has caused our pain.
Our government has raided the Medicare program to pay for a radical left agenda. The truth is that the Medicare Hospital Insurance (HI) Trust Fund, out of which benefits for inpatient care are paid, will be bankrupt in 12 years. Medicare needs to be saved for the elderly.
Despite the Supreme Court ruling that a President couldn’t unilaterally forgive debt, President Biden was determined to win over the young voting base.
We are smart people, we know there was no loan forgiveness it is a transfer of debt.
President Biden has “forgiven” $167 billion in student loans for over 4.7 million Americans. What the White House isn't emphasizing is that 87% of adults without student loans are being forced to pay for the 13% of adults who did. (House budget committee
He is not forgiving student loans, he is placing the burden of loans onto the backs of working-class taxpayers.?
More from the House Budget Committee:
- The gross national debt is currently?$34.73 trillion. This equates to:$104,216?per person in the U.S.$264,268?per household in the U.S.$480,241?per child in the U.S.
- The debt one year ago was?$32.1 trillion, meaning that the debt has increased by?$2.64 trillion?over the past 12 months. The rate of increase since one year ago has equaled:$220 billion?in new debt per month.$7.2 billion?in new debt per day.$301 million?in new debt per hour.$5 million?in new debt per minute.$83,651?in new debt per second.
- When President Biden took office total gross debt was $27.75 trillion, meaning he has increased the national debt by $6.97 trillion. This equates to:$20,925?more debt per person.$53,061?more debt per household.$96,424?more debt per child.
Policy changes our government should start working towards today
- Federal government and urban cities should cut overall government spending by 20% within two years and cut government spending by 50% within 7 years. (I once worked in a city where I paid city tax, county tax, state tax and federal tax)
- Tax payer dollars should be earmarked for the military, national security, education and health.
- Cut Medicaid by 50% within two years and add a ‘gap’ program. No one can be on welfare for more than two years. A former welfare recipient gets a job but has trouble making the rent. The public private collaboration will help those individuals get into small efficient safe homes that are affordable.
- Return social security benefits to those people who paid into the system and their spouses. Immediately give notice to anyone who has been put on social security disability for back pain, depression and or anxiety.
- Federal tax payer dollars should be earmarked for military/national security, education, health and reasonable salaries for elected officials.
- No welfare monies for illegal aliens. PERIOD
- Court approved asylum seekers may be eligible for welfare at 60% of what American citizens are eligible for. There is a cap of one year.
- Immediately cancel the loans owned by China. China caused the pandemic by manipulating the bat Coranavirus in the Wuhan Lab of Virology and then covered it up. Most experts believe the outbreak was a biological attack, while others believe it was an accidental leak. Regardless, post the outbreak China produced most of the PPE and drove up prices exponentially. Have we learned anything? Is America self sufficient in pharmaceutical and PPE production?
- Congress will be allowed by vote to spend a total of 50 million dollars to assist any NATO country. Ukraine has received 175 billion dollars. The money goes directly to the Ukrainian government. US tax dollars are funding the retirement benefits of Ukrainians, while there are Americans living in poverty. This can never be allowed to occur today. Don’t forget the elected officials who voted against asking Ukraine for any accountability or accounting of how US tax dollars are being paid.
- NGO’s need to be vetted by committees of Americans who are not elected. It is widely rumored that NGO’s are assisting illegal aliens crossing the border. There is 80,000 children missing under this administration that crossed the border. It is surmised most of these children are placed in the sex trafficking rings
In conclusion, my policy recommendations are rudimentary. I often do that to spark conversation so people can work toward common goals.
