Why Am I Waking Up At 5AM?!

Are the 5am wake ups, making your bed, cold water showers, meditations, high fiving yourself and chanting affirmations really worth it?

If, like me, you've had some gargantuan life experience that diverted the course of your life forever, then you've probably also nose dived into a life of seeking...

This 'seeking' (usually the life you'd hoped you'd had) generally entailed you going on some kind of journey.

The journey, often called the hero's journey, meant you going on a personal mission of self-discovery.

While on this introspective adventure you've most likely turned to mentors.

This often starts with well-known thought leaders who advice on how to change your life.

Here are some of mine that I turned to:

  • Louise Hay
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Wayne Dyer
  • Tony Robbins
  • Gay Hendricks
  • Byron Katy
  • Lisa Nicholls
  • Les Brown
  • Gary Zukav
  • Eckhart Tolle
  • Marianne Williamson
  • And the rest...

?? All of them have a theory on how you can change your life.

?? Generally it's quite different from your usual MO.

?? And yes, it involves shaking things up!

But is it all really worth the aggro, pain and hassle?        
The Answer: Well... it's all a matter of perspective.

If someone presented you with the opportunity of a major promotion at work, you'd at least consider it, right?

You'd break down the pros and cons.

You'd look at the financial gain.

You'd explore the options.

So why wouldn't you do that for your whole LIFE?

The question you really need to ask your-SELF:

What's it worth if I DON'T DO IT?        

I remember when I found myself in my own mess...

I decided that change was no longer an option but an essential.

I realised that stepping into the unknown, the place where the scaries lived was now far more enticing than staying where I was.

The painful thoughts of remaining in an abusive relationship I hated, living a life of struggle and neglect, was so intense I would have done anything to get myself out of it.

And YES... ??        

?? Making changes is never gonna be easy.

?? You will experience up and downs, like a rollercoaster on speed!

?? But how you approach the rocky terrain will make all the difference.

(Hint: with CURIOSITY and an OPEN-MIND - surrender yourself to the process.)

Here are some tips to help you:

  1. Take it one day at a time - it's not a competition. ??
  2. Only work on your-SELF - you can't change anyone else.
  3. Set some intentions so you have somewhere to walk towards. ?
  4. Get a coach, mentor, close friend to support you on your journey.
  5. Remember to enjoy yourself too, take time out and have fun on the way. ??

So truth be told, when I had my life crash back in 2016.. I made a drastic shift! I joined the club of Hal Elrod and his Miracle Mornings! I devoured that book like a fresh, flaky Parisienne croissant! I started practicing yoga with the superwoman Sadie Nardini I got the brilliant Heather Waring to coach me from the edge! AND I journaled like a motherchunker! Plus a whole pile of other sweetness that turned my life around! AND... I HAVE NEVER STOPPED!!! I read daily and still journal, meditate, exercise, drink 3 litres of water and push myself out of my comfort zone. Making changes in your life takes tenacity, dedication and persistence. BUT.... YOU ARE WORTH THE EFFORT AND TIME! (Just imagine how easy it's been to give this to everyone else...)
